1. What are the type or nature of this kind of Industry or Business?

The Business Permits and Licensing Office or the BPLO is a service oriented, local
government implementing body that provides service to all of the business enterprise within the
municipality of Sariaya with regards to business licenses and permits, we also provide service to
the tricycle sector of Sariaya, as the implementing body of the Municipal Tricycle Franchising
Regulatory board, we ensure that all of the tricycle laws and regulations are implemented, the
BPLO also process papers with regards to tricycle operations.
2. What are the reason to come up in this kind of business or industry? What are the reasons?

The obvious reason to come with this industry or I must say a local government office is the
simplification of bureaucracies in the Government. As an implanting body of all regulatory,
permiting and licensing of all the Business Enterprise in Sariaya, we make sure that all of the
business in Sariaya will comply to the Local Government Code Series of 1992.

3. What are the advantages and disadvantages of running such type of industry, business or organization?
There are no real disadvantages in running a service oriented, local government office,
because we are the implementing body, the least disadvantage I must say is we should
always comply with the national standards in providing service to the clients or to the
people of sariaya. One Advantage I must say is that we provide that outmost service
that a local government unit can provide.

4. What are the rules and regulation of this industry or business?

To name the basic rules and regulation in the service oriented industry or local government office
like ours are;

a. Ensure public safety;

b. Protect public welfare;
c. Verify information
declared by the business operator in his application for business permit;
d. Ensure compliance of business operations to existing laws and ordinances.
e. Exercise of the regulatory function of the Mayor to generate local revenues
thru taxes, fees and charges;
f. Prepare inspection report which would serve as recommendation to the Mayor
for disposition;
g. Monitor developments and changes in business activity;
h. Recommend revocation of business permits of establishments that are found
and determined to be violating existing laws, rules and regulations;
i. Recommend measures for legislative enactment of the Sangguniang Bayan.
j. Conduct advocacies to business owners to comply with the filing of business
permits.
k. Perform such other duties and functions as maybe warranted from time to
time.
