CHEERDANCE MECHANICS & GUIDELINES

1. Competition is open to all students of Greendale Residences Integrated School


2. A minimum of 40 and a maximum of 50 members.
3. Members should be equally combination of girls and boys.
4. Dance should follow the cheerdance dancing routine and should be 6 – 8 minutes only.
(ENTRANCE AND EXIT IS INCLUDED)
The routine parameters:
 The routines are cheers or yells, gimmickry (stunts or pyramid), and the
cheerdance routine piece.
 The order of the performance is:
1. First, the cheers or yells for not more than ONE (1) MINUTE
2. Second, the gimmickry for not more than TWO (2) MINUTES
3. Last, the cheerdance routine piece must not exceed THREE (3) MINUTES
 Cheers/chants must be yelled by the dancers live (not pre-recorded).
 All routines must be appropriate for family viewing. Any vulgar or suggestive
movements, words, or music may result in point deduction in their final score.
Uniforms must also be decent.
5. The group can use any song of their choice but the routine should be able to incorporate
the “Philippines Culture and Sports” theme in their dance.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
a) Degree of Difficulty 10 pts
b) Dance Technique 5 pts
c) Gymnastic Skills 5 pts
d) Pyramid 10 pts (maximum of 4 levels)
e) Jumps 5 pts
f) Tosses 5 pts
ROUTINE
a) Synchronization 10 pts
b) Safety 5 pts
c) Choreography 10 pts
d) Energy and Projection 10 pts
CHEER AND YELLS
a) Audibility and Volume 10 pts
b) Content 5 pts
OVER-ALL IMPRESSION
a) Audience Impact 10 pts

TOTAL – 100 points
