Eligibility Criteria

For B.Sc Electrical Engineering

 Admission is open to Pakistani male female candidates and there is no age

restriction. The applicant will be selected on merit. A candidate must have the
following minimum qualification can apply:

 HSSC (Pre-Engineering).
 HSSC (Pre-Medical) with Add Math.
 GCSE/A-Level or an equivalent foreign qualification.
 B.Sc Degree (with Physics and Mathematics) from a recognized institution.
 D.A.E/B.Tech Pass in Electrical or Electronics or Instrument Technology.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

 Minimum 50% marks with following combination in Intermediate

 F.Sc (Pre-Engineering/Pre Medical With Additional Mathematics)
 ICS/General Science with following subject.
 Mathematics, Statistics, Physics
 Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics
 Mathematics, Statistic, Computer Science

 A-Level certificate with Minimum B-Grade ( Mathematics with two other

Science subjects Physics, Statistics, Chemistry etc). Equivalence certificate
from IBCC. Other foreign qualification are eligible only if an equivalence
certificate issued by IBCC.
 D.A.E and other diploma holders are not eligible for BSCS at GCU.
 I.com/D.com certified candidate are not eligible
 Result awaiting students can eligible to appear in entry test
Admission Regulations

Admission will be strictly on merit which shall be determined on the basis of overall marks
and interview.
The applicant (male/female) applying for admission to BA/BSc 4-Years program must have
passed his/her HSSC with at least 50% marks.
The candidates for admission to BA/B.Sc will be interviewed on the notified and the
candidate who remains absent will have no claim to admission, irrespective of the marks
they have obtained in the HSSC examination. The candidate who select English and Political
Science as their major subject are required to qualify the test conducted by the department.
Merit list shall be prepared on the basis of the candidate Score in written test and interview.

For BSc in Physics/Math/Stat/Electronics/BSCS. The candidate must have passed his HSSC
examination with from any board of intermediate and secondary education securing at least
50% marks.

DAE/D.Com students are not eligible to apply admission in BA/B.Sc Programs expect BSc in
electronics Offered by the physics department and B.Com offered by the economics
department.
Candidate who passed I.Com will be eligible for admission to BA/B.Sc programme in only
those subject which are allowed by the concerned department.

A-Level/Equivalent
The students who seek admission on the basis of the A-level should also attach their result
with the application form. They also have to submit the equivalence certificate. They must
have passed their A-Level examination with at least 3 subjects. They will be given admission
on the basis of their performance in A-level and in equivalent examination and the merit of
such candidate will be determined amongst them after converting their Grades of A-
Level/Equivalent according to the following formula:

A*=90 Marks A=85 Marks

B =75 Marks C=65 Marks
D =55 Marks E=45 Marks

Music

The candidate who seeking admission on the basis of outstanding performance in co-
curricular activities are required submit a ‘’ Category Form’’ along with general admission
form. A candidate applying on the basis of co-curricular activities will not consider for open
merit if he/she has not submit the separate application form for open merit.
Attested copies of the co-curricular certificate must be attached.
The candidate will have to appear in trials of the Co-curricular Activities according to the
schedule given by the chairperson of the society.
The candidate recommended by the Societies board will be called for the interview on the
scheduled date.
Students selected for admission on co-curricular basis shall be assigned to Science or Arts
Group by the Admission Committee at the time of the interview on the basis of the candidate
ability and aptitude. The decision of the Admission Committee will be final.

Sports

The candidate seeking admission on the basis of the sports are required to submit ‘’Sports
Form’’ along with the Admission form. Candidate apply on the basis of sports will be not
consider on open merit if he/she has not submitted the separate form for open merit.
Attested copies of the sports certificate must attached with form.
Candidate shall have to appear for the trials of the sports according to the given by the
sport office.
Student selected for admission on sport basis will be assigned Major Combination by the
Admission Committee at the time of the interview on the basis of the ability and aptitude.
Sportsman may given scholarship/full dues concession/fee concession on account of
his/her outstanding performance.

Disability
Some seats are reserved for special applicant at undergraduate level such applicant should
attach a ‘’Disability Certificate’’ obtained from District Disability Board with application form.
There is no age limit for special students.

Overseas Pakistani

In addition to the seats for admission to BA/BSc on merit, some seats have been allocated
for Overseas Pakistani Children.
The Candidate should write ‘’ Overseas Pakistanis ‘’ in Legible writing on the top of the
Admission Form.
General condition for admission against the seats reserved for Overseas Pakistanis are same
as for the candidate applying for the admission in BA/BSc , BSCS/B.com in University on
Open Merit.
The parents must be Pakistani and engage in business Or job in foreign country.
In case candidate parent is employed in a foreign country, he/she should submit a
certificate to that effect from employer along with proof of residential status. In case parent
is engaged in business in a foreign country then he/she should produce proof of his/her
business/office and residential status along with the Application Form.
The candidate applying on this basis shall apply for admission directly to the university
along with the other candidate. The candidates who have passed the Intermediate
Examination from any Intermediate Board in Pakistan are eligible.
Four attested recent photograph should be attached with the Admission Form along with the
following documents:

 Four attested copies of intermediate result card and one attested copy of SSC
result card.
 One attested copy of character certificate form the institution last attended.
 Proof of the candidate’s parent’s employment or business in a foreign country
as well as residential
Provinces Other than the Punjab
As per the following table some seats are reserved for the candidate other then Punjab.

The seats are equally distributed among the three faculties .Faculty of Science & Technology,
Faculty of Arts & Social Science, Faculty of Language, Islamic & Oriental Language.
Minorities
One percent quota of the total seats is reserved for minorities with the condition that the
applicant meet the minimum criteria for the admission set for others.
Hafiz-e-Quran
Candidate applying for admission on the basis of Hafiz-e –Quran should:
Have a certificate from registered Madrassa from where he has complete his Hafiz-e –
Quran.
Pass the oral test be given before admission
20 marks will be added to the marks he has obtained in SSC/A-level equivalent
examination.
Foreign Students
Ten seats are reserved for Foreign National candidates seeking admission to the university.
In addition, 03 seats are reserved for the candidate from Bangladesh.
