SMARTPHONE : A TRAVELER’S NEW FRIEND

Assalamu’alaikum wr.wb.

My name is Annisa Puspita Amalia from 16 MIPA 3. First, I would like to say thank you to
Allah SWT as a Lord of Universe because of His mercies we are able to be here today. And I
would like to say thank you to my teacher for this opportunity to let me say a few words for this
practical examination.

Today, travel is a huge part of people life. People either traveling around the world for business
and pleasure. They capture and share experiences through photographs and videos. Social media
is very much about visuals and being able to share interesting, beautiful images and video is
important.

Nowadays, the smartphone is something we’ll go back for if we leave it at home. No matter
what, smartphone is the most important thing in our life. Many things have done with
smartphone and it is making your travelling easier. Why? Enter the smartphone: a traveler’s new
best friend. Aside from convenience, I have compiled my top 10 reasons why smartphone can be
your new best friend for traveling.

1. Camera quality. Finding a smartphone with 20MP camera is no longer a challenge, that allows
you to blow up a photo and find massive amounts of detail in each picture. It means
smartphone’s camera quality is good as DSLR quality.

2. Portable editing. Apps will allow you to edit your images on the go. No matter what type of
phone you use, there are apps that can help you enhance and edit any image, no need to bring
your laptop.

3. Travel sharing with your network. You can easily share images and video real time on social
media. Apps are available and free. Capturing and sharing in the moment is what makes travel
more fun and engaging. So that you and your friends can easily share to each other’s great
moments during your traveling.
4. Mobile entertainment. It’s accessible to watch video clips and movies on the go. In this case,
smartphone can help you for not get bored while you are in the long trip. So you can keep be
enjoy every time because you have other option to fill your time.

5. Easy to bring. Smartphone is easier to bring. You can keep it in your pocket, bags or by hand.
So you can leave your heavy and bulky DSLR camera at home.

6. Sound quality. What’s the important thing is smartphone also has a good sound quality? It’s
amazing how clear the sound is even being able to record someone speaking several feet in front
of me. So I will not lose moments while recording.

7. Picture quality. The camera should be razor sharp with bright, saturated colors. It must be able
to pinch and zoom into the photo and still see details clearly. The smartphone has a great camera
and has very few compression artifacts. The screen is sharp and clear, even in direct sunlight.

8. Apps. Look for a phone that has built-in photo apps that allow you to crop and reframe photos.
This is important, as it’s quicker than opening a separate app to edit my photos. So you can

can show you the direction of the place that you want to go. So if you use this, you will not get
lost when travelling.

10. Call and message. Smartphone can be use too to call and messager to other people in very far
away place from you. But this really help you to always keep in contact with people or your
friends when travelling. So that you and your friends will not be apart and keep in touch for each
other.

From the reasons I give, we can conclude that smartphone is important and helpful for traveling.
Many features, apps, and ability that can make our traveling is easier so that we will not lose
every moments that happens. We can say that smartphone is a traveler’s new friend.
