INTERVIEW: The Total Responses of the Teachers

Intro:
Moderator: Who are your students and what are their attitudes towards DynEd?

Teacher Ann: My students are first year and second year college students…from Barangay
High Schools and with regards to DynEd, I have to base it in their reaction
paper…they enjoy it…a need to update the data… [it’s] been developed
around 90’s.

Teacher Niza: Generally, they told me that it’s a good learning experience… [this is] not
incorporated in their High school English… they enjoy…few that might feel
bored because the content of DynEd needs to be updated.

Teacher Mary: … [they are] from provinces… [they are] exposed into technology; still they
find DynEd new…don’t have this in High school as teaching materials.

Teacher Rod: …[they are] coming from different departments are having diverse
backgrounds. Some of them relate to the accent which is British…expose
to that accent. For those advance, they find it easy.

Teacher Ana: …handle first year and second year and they are diverse from different
college... When it comes to their attitude towards DynEd… need to consider
like their motivation to learn English…the teachers’ way of orienting and
facilitating their students. But it would depend on their competency.

Teacher Andrew: Most of them are exposed to computers. DynEd is new to them. They are
interested and they find it very helpful.

Teacher Janine: …helps develop their four (4) macro-skills… Out of this, they acquire what
is needed for them.

Moderator: What are your students’ learning styles, interest and the support of
DynEd?
Teacher Ann: I cannot say on their interest and learning but in their age group, I can say
that they are technologically oriented. …more on auditory and visual. So
DynEd being a software program has activities to answer those learning
styles. …update the content to fit on the changing ages and on the different
background of the students.

Teacher Mary: Towards their interests on DynEd,… [they] have difficulty on listening. …
not more into listening instruction, basically when they were in high school,
DynEd tries to develop this language competency.

Teacher Niza: Since most of them are in intermediate level and they love technology so
their learning styles are catered by the DynEd instruction.

Teacher Rod: One I like about DynEd is that, it suits the different learning styles so they
are learning at their own pace.

Teacher Ana: For the computer savvy, I think DynEd will address the learning style,
specifically if they are visual but for the auditory learners, they love music
I think they might feel bored… But for the bodily-kinesthetic, they might
find it a little boring; especially they are more on kinesthetic intelligence.

Teacher Andrew: In my observation, most of them enjoyed on their interaction on DynEd

because they are going to speak and even practice their pronunciation skills.
If they keep on talking, their pronunciation will be furnished.

Teacher Mary: Of course, DynEd helps student through direct method because it more into
giving drills or exercises. When it comes to demonstration of its British
accent, basically the sounds and how to get with English, DynEd is okay.

Teacher Niza: In addition to direct method, it is more on audio-lingual method because it

is more on listening activities. There’s no problem with the technology but
sometimes students got difficulty on listening because of the accent (TP2).”
Teacher Ana: I agree that DynEd increases students’ English ability through computer-
aided instruction and the use of communicative approach because they are
force in an activity, especially in the speaking part. So I encourage to guide
the students, especially in using the Speech Meter.

Teacher Andrew: Aside from the textbook, we also have our internet sources, we have also
our LCD projector and our DynEd.

Teacher Lucia: I do agree with sir Andrew that book is not enough, we do have to apply
ICT in our classroom that serves as an enhancement program.

Moderator: What are linguistic and language assumptions did you find on DynEd? If
possible, can you elaborate the DynEd’s way of teaching English?

Teacher Ana: To further develop or hone their skills, at the same to practice, not just in
the laboratory but in the room, if possible among themselves in their
everyday conversation; for them to be ready for employment...

Teacher Rod: I think this is also a supplement to what was taught in the classroom. It gives
them the opportunity to practice on the necessary skills that they should
have, especially in reading with the help of the context clues and solving
problems…

Teacher Ann: Since the content of every module is very foreign like UK setting, if not, in
Australia and many others. So our students hail from different tribes and
minority, it’s a noble for them.

Teacher Lucia: Students are exposed on the speakers, although it’s a record one but given
the fact that they are having an interaction and exposure to the person during
the speech recognition activities influences them very much in a way of
learning their culture and expressions…

Teacher Ana: They can teach any students indecisive about what module to be taken and
the number of lessons as long as they have to finish the entire modules with
the mastery test. As of the immediate feedback, they can read the study
record for them to know how they are doing on DynEd, especially when
taking different activities where they can practice their skills in listening,
speaking and reading. For multi-media presentation, there are video clips
and other visual illustrations that are incorporated in every module as well
as audio recording.

Teacher Lucia: In fact, those are important for the benefits of all stakeholders that in the
first place, it offers quality mechanisms and other technical aspects…

Teacher Andrew: I think the DynEd developer understand how students learn English because
before this material being utilized by the university, there are series of
studies that DynEd really helps students in their development, not only for
beginners but even those who are in practice…

Teacher Ana: I think UM has conducted a consultation already before it is used and that
the effectiveness of the software will be preserved.

Teacher Ana: In the various lessons, exercises and activities offered in different modules
intended for different level of students, I could say that they are structurally,
socially and culturally grounded through this supplementary material. First,
with the integration of the lessons and grammar and sentence structure and
also for them to be aware of the social environment especially when go to
America, Europe, Australia and other parts of the world. And also cultural
diversities, it opens their eyes, the diversity of people, places and events.

Teacher Ann: Teacher Ana is talking about situations, especially for hospitality English
or for HRM students. There is cultural diversity where DynEd includes the
culture of Indians, Chinese and Hebrews. In the part of clear speech works,
where there is a part wherein they have to choose an English that they are
familiar with like Hongkong English, Singaporean English, etc. But I take
on DynEd has something lacking that developer must work on because even
if students are coming from provinces after a week, they are already
technologically sophisticated because I assume that they are not behind
with internet access in the province…
Moderator: What are the language teaching approaches did you observe on DynEd?
How’s the impact of DynEd to the student lives? And what are the
support activities present to these approaches?

Teacher Janine: I think… the DynEd activates the mind of the students because they need to
analyze based on different activities that will be answered. Of course they
have to follow a certain procedure or instructions in order for them to
accomplish the given task.

Teacher Andrew: Students of mine before are very excited to take DynEd because…ahhm, it
is mainly unique and first time to experience such software.

Teacher Mary: The very famous….” thank you for your effort,… you did very well.” Of
course, the software is programmed, unlike other people around them, even
if they are not doing good, even if you are not good, the program is very
frank. At the same time, the placement test, basically it places the students
on their level. If their placement is higher compare to others. Then, they will
feel appreciated.

Teacher Niza: As a teacher, I have the responsibility to show my appreciation to students...

even if they have difficulty in answering the tests in order to positively
mindset the students…

Teacher Ana: It starts with the orientation headed by the facilitator, the rules and
regulations that students will observe inside the laboratory during the
DynEd training. And then, the courseware itself, it provides a certain
amount of control to the student like they have to decide where to start, give
them an idea as to what to work on and there’s time limit. Aside from that,
they are given the freedom to choose, to stop what part of DynEd they like,
whether to finish everything or not just to be able to take the mastery test,
to visit their record from time to time. Some of those controls that they are
given.
Teacher Lucia: Most of the time students are focus on their work since everything is time-
pressured. This means that they have to be attentive in order to achieve the
desired goals while working on DynEd.

Teacher Rod: Students are even asking for extension in their working time because they
are not usually into working on this way. In this way, unlike inside a
classroom where teacher can extend their working, they are curbed by trying
to maximize their time.

Teacher Ann: Like dynamic English, a certain concepts are presented or a certain stories
are presented. There’s a zeroing in on speech difficulties or to vocabulary
or comprehension matters like the events of the stories that they have to
arrange to proper sequence or proper order.

Teacher Andrew: Yes, students are taught in a direct way where lessons are laid up and that
the students are given an option to choose guided on the given lessons to be
taken and be accomplished. There are several or series of modules but for
first year or Eng101, there are specific modules to be taken by students and
outline of lessons can be seen on the menu.

Teacher Janine: The lessons are outlined clearly in which students may no longer be
confused on the things that they have to do in every meeting…

Teacher Mary: It is nice to use DynEd because students can easily locate the lessons needed
after the placement test.

Teacher Rod: There were parts for vocabulary building wherein they just need to click the
box and putting it and then, explanation will pop up. It’s a way for them to
know the meaning of the words and errors are disclosed as to which students
will know the part where they committed a mistake.

Teacher Ana: Only some of their modules or lessons are provided with explanations for
clarifications whether the responses or answers are correct. Again, there’s a
need for intervention of teachers to explain further to the students why the
answer is consider as wrong.
Teacher Andrew: The DynEd speech activities where the students like it based on their
feedback. That’s a way of practicing how words should be uttered.

Teacher Lucia: I observed my students enjoying while working on SR activities because it

seems that they are having an interaction in actual but realistically only
through virtual way. This is a good way to help them how to pronounce at
their convenience and in an enjoyable way.

Teacher Ana: It’s the video interaction where students build up their speaking confidence
as if they are into realistic interaction.

Teacher Lucia: Speaker’s accent is sometimes learned by students through Video

interaction. I think this is a one way of helping them working on the speech
mechanism.

Teacher Ann: Well, of course, through the study record, they can have their progress and
what they have accomplished as well as how much percent the lesson or the
module. For the teacher, it’s a record manager where we can monitor but be
trained first. Well, of course, it’s the post-test that will evaluate students’
progress. If you have gained a lot in your post-test score over your pre-test
score, you have done well…

Teacher Janine: The good thing of DynEd’s study records allows the students to personally
access their accumulated scores at their convenience and it is good for
monitoring.

Teacher Rod: I observe that new DynEd teachers are not that knowledgeable enough in
knowing the purpose and the use of Record Manager.

Teacher Andrew: There’s no extension activities but we have a make class for those students
who have poor results. However, they are given the chance also to finish
everything all the modules what they have missed all throughout so that
they will pass.
Teacher Janine: I just notice that after DynEd, there’s no follow up intervention done by
teacher which is needed in terms of helping them realize the role of DynEd
and why they’re having a failing records.

Teacher Ana: When they will click the study record, they will see completely the kind of
performance that they have. Mastery and Placement don’t provide right or
wrong answers. It will stop automatically if committed a consecutive
mistake. The computer will tell them as to what other lessons that they
should open and what are the things they do to improve their
communication skills.

Teacher Mary: I find the importance of voice recording, listening comprehension by using
the repeat button more, working on the pronunciation and other articulation
activities, poor working performance. Despite of the below expected
performance, the courseware initiates a friendly feedback for the student.
This means that the developer has also its initiative to program the
courseware by allowing it to act as a classroom teacher. But students are
looking for the wrong answers that they commit, it’s not provided on
DynEd.

Moderator: What is the computer delivery system you encounter on DynEd? How does
DynEd ensure its system effectiveness? If possible, what are your
observations to your students during their exposure?

Teacher Rod: I think they have certain activities wherein they just click the sentence and
listen to it and repeat it to check the support text available.

Teacher Andrew: I believe that DynEd audio recording is clear enough. That’s why students
can easily follow the narration of the story.

Teacher Ann: There are three mastery tests that initiate comprehension check as a help
option if students understand the topic.

Teacher Mary: Students are commonly asked with yes or no questions while listening to
the lesson presentation. It is done to check if students are listening
attentively and for comprehension purposes.
Teacher Rod: In order that students remember the delivered lessons and other concepts,
students are helped through initiating questions which may help them as
guide to understand the lesson.

Moderator: In what way that DynEd able to pass of Hubbard’s approach-based design
criteria? How do you describe the approach meaningful to students’
academic life?

Teacher Janine: DynEd provides meaningful communicative interaction through its

interactive activities. Out of these, it would be meaningful because they can
apply what they have already like in video interactions.

Teacher Rod: Students are given the opportunity to follow through communicative and
interactive activity which allows them to decide of an appropriate answer
depending on the questions. This will allow them to evaluate how the
language is formally and informally used in reality.

Teacher Niza: It’s the placement that will identify what lessons they are going to take
related to the revealing needs. At the same time, they suggested a module
for each classes [class]. So after taking the placement test, they have to take
those suggested modules ideally during the first implementation of the
program in the university.

Teacher Andrew: The lessons and activities on DynEd are made easy fitted right for second
language learners like U.M students. Vocabularies are easy to understand
and repetitions are provided.

Teacher Janine: With the diversity of students, DynEd turns appropriate because college
students are responsible enough in their goals and choices in life, especially
in learning English and be exposed through.

Moderator: What part of DynEd did you encounter common problems? What can you
suggest or comment about this computerized program?
Teacher Janine: … [there’s a need to] increase the time and training for students to work on
their record and the lessons to be taken.

Teacher Ana: There are the common activities which mainly more on speech recognition
like Video Interactions that are not taken by the students.

Teacher Ann: Microphone is important and be replaced if not working ASAP so it plays
important role to students where the university is supportive.

Teacher Rod: … [teacher] don’t require students to fall for attendance because it’s a waste
of time. Aside from that, extra- modules will be added to utilize the software
effectively.

Teacher Ann: It is better to integrate the software to the other program, not on English.
DynEd can be an ESP material. Students’ working time must be increased
and percentage requirements.

Teacher Andrew … [there’s a need to align] aligned the DynEd lessons so that books and
syllabus content will be more catered, for it helps much to students with
difficulty on English.
B. INTERVIEW: The Total Responses of the Students

Intro:
Moderator: What are your remarks about DynEd as part of English subject?

Jasper: Well, I am interested in English and as well as those British language. I am

also a fan of listening to this language. Well, DynEd caters my needs and
interests; especially English is very need in applying for a job.

Jasmine: DynEd helps me through enhancing my communication skills, especially

my course needs English in dealing with other people.

Yasmin: For me, DynEd caters my needs through knowing my level with the help of
DynEd placement test. With this, DynEd enhances some difficulty and an
area where I don’t have an idea. For example in grammar, it provides me an
idea about proper sentence construction. DynEd has an activities intended
for speaking and listening. After the exposure, the students will be
knowledgeable and it would depend on the students if he or she has an
interest on DynEd because some students are taking DynEd for granted.
Students are given an option to learn or take it as a requirement.

Clint: DynEd caters my needs unlike those books that only focus on reading
comprehension while in DynEd, it is not about reading comprehension but
also on listening as well as allowing the students to comprehend the
question given.

Wilbur: DynEd knows our proficiency level through placement test and there’s a
mastery test in every module and that after taking all the required lessons,
there’s a post-test.

Veronica: DynEd gives us different exercises to assess our proficiency level like
evaluating our knowledge on basic grammar. Lastly, DynEd caters every
aspects of students’ interest.
Jasmin: I find difficult on the speech recognition. This part enables my confidence
to respond orally.

Yasmin: I also agree with respondent number 7 [Wilbur] because in speech

recognition, you need to consider the language of the speaker or its
pronunciation, repeating carefully the statement given and comprehending
the directions given.

Jasper: I find Fill-Ins and Mastery test difficult you will find those blanks given
with the correct answer, basically from the box with words provided or
difficult varied items. So what I did was, I took the presentation twice so
that I will be guided.

Yasmin: I find difficulty on comprehending the directions given like the part where
there’s symbols that you have to put on its proper place. I am referring to
city directionswhere symbols of hospital, hotel, schools, etc. are given and
that the speaker is difficult to understand because of the accent.

Aireen: I find difficulty on city directions, also. What I did was, I kept on repeating
the presentation to familiarize everything.

Moderator: What do you think the learning styles being develop on DynEd? What
learning style do you prefer that you find supported on DynEd?

Wilbur: The preferred learning style develops on DynEd…hmm..is auditory. First,

you need to focus on hearing… and listening given that the environment is
sometimes not good enough…aah...for other students are talking and you
tend to be distracted. Second, you have to think… what you have heard and
that you are not just hearing but listening so that there will be
comprehension [comprehended].
Yasmin: For me, DynEd caters visual learner or auditory learner because it provides
pictures, symbols… and at the same time, there’s an auditory support. It
works for me because if headset does not work well, so the picture quite
aided my difficulty. If I am not good with auditory, I can use visual so
DynEd approach was effective. On other hand, if you utter your answer
orally… you will be given with higher points than to dragging the correct
answer on the space provided.

Jasper: DynEd is helpful for those auditory… and visual learners because for me, I
am visual learner and that I learn most of the time from pictures which
DynEd has offer.

Veronica: I agree with respondents one, two and three… because it really helps each
student… (because) we have different learning styles or study habits, so as
for me visual… and auditory where also DynEd has offer opportunities for
those students with photographic memory or auditory learning style. DynEd
developers also think of any kind of learner.

Clint: Since I am more into independent learning… and that DynEd seems to be a
personal tutor. It does not pressure you and it leads to a certain as much as
you want.

Aireen: Today, there are people who…who tend to learn from the internet and that
they find book as…not interesting anymore so DynEd seems to offer a
shortcut teaching or practice a direct method.

Jasmin: DynEd offers a lot of options depending on our learning styles. For
example, “Dictations”... I use to fast forward because I find it boring and
that [that’s] what I like DynEd.

Jasper: In the exercise during the presentation, ...there’s a need for the student to
apply prior learning just through context clue.

Wilbur: The test that tests our prior learning is the pre-test sir because in that, we are
tested what we have learned before like grammar, sentence construction,
word choice, etc.
Jasmin: For me, the review exercises offer the questions given… before will be
included in this activity. With it, there’s need of a good recall.
Aireen: There’s a good recall on review exercises since… students are engaged into
three activities like dictations, fill-ins and speech practice as repetition of
important details.

Wilbur: I go with comprehension check sir… because you will be asked from time
to time while taking the lesson presentation to test if learner listens on it.

Jasper: DynEd has comprehension activities like Space and Time lesson… and its
ordering type activities where…where it highlights reading time and space
game. These are usually more on following a given instruction.

Veronica: I find city direction challenging to comprehend because… it is more on

asking questions like when speaker asks “Where are you now?” Which is
a quite shock for me… because I am not familiar with the location and
symbols given.

Clint: I find the part of DynEd that offers experiential activities …which is the
question practice because… hmm… it is not only that we have to arrange
the words into a sentence but also we need to speak to arrange the words
into a sentence correctly.

Jasmin: In that exercise [Question Practice], the students must be familiar with
verbal expressions…. based from narrative audio-visual presentation. That
can be a secret to have a better scoring on this part.

Aireen: Anyway sir… every module seems to have more than like a Question
Practice. I think it’s common based on my observation… where it repeats
common expressions during a presentation.

Jasmin: I believe it’s the video interaction, specifically the…the telephone

conversation because I was informed there about friendly conversation in a
telephone… and how to handle telephone call.
Wilbur: To add in, it is not only Video Interactions lesson… but there’s more on
DynEd that caters like simulation activities.

Aireen: Students like me may be informed about important business

communications... and other Business English which served to be a
preparation for us after college like working in a hotel and tourism
industries…

Moderator: What kind of classroom did DynEd have? What are the activities that you
take more than you experience in a classroom setting?

Jasmin: We are given a modules to be taken… and be accomplished in our class

Eng102… it’s the module four, five and six. This is to maximize our
time...hmm…doing related lessons with our subject and unfortunately,
others cannot complete because time is lacking.

Wilbur: My teachers before in DynEd usually gave an orientation with us so that…

we will be guided on the modules required to be taken. Of course, these
modules are related to the English subject that we have… and to manage
our time since only two weeks is allotted.

Wilbur: It is the Study Records that is intended for the students… to monitor their
records… and their performance or progress, while Records Manager is an
option for the teacher to control and monitor the activities taken by students.

Jasper: DynEd’s record keeping is carefully designed to avoid manipulation of all

the records. It is assured that records of students must be authentic.

Jasper: In DynEd, we are working individually because we have to work not for
others but in our own…
Clint: Just an observation, students will be given the private place if they commit
mistakes… and I like this system. It even allows students to work on their
own way… (SP5).”
Moderator: How do you describe the program and learner focus on DynEd? What is
the focus of the lesson you have encountered on DynEd?

Jasper: From the subject description of Eng102 as Interactive Reading… and on

DynEd, students are given the chance to read and interact to the monitor…

Clint: Like in my first English subject Eng101, DynEd serves as an enhancement

because all learning are incorporated… and be tested on the program as well
as it supports students’ lack and need.

Jasmin: I believe it’s the sentence reading… and question practice under speech
recognition because you need to listen first to the speaker’s way of reading
the sentences… and that the students need to repeat the sentence and be
given a certain points.

Yasmin: Students are exposed to Reading for Success… as a helpful material where
a reader will be more informed… and well-rounded individual like readings
about Confucius, nature, technological innovations, epidemics,
explorations, biography, futuristic advancement and much more…

Aireen: I find the sentence ordering and grammar exercises as a big help to develop
students’ writing…

Clint: Generally, the ideas I learn made more knowledgeable on writing a sentence
and many others.

Clint: I think all the activities on DynEd focuses more on developing listening
skills sir…

Jasmin: It’s the Repetition sir because in this activity, students need to listen first…
the statement delivered by the speaker to answer the succeeding items…
Jasper: It’s the Dictation sir… because you need to listen first from the presentation
before you can fill a specific and a correct words to fill in the blank provided
and must be remembered carefully.

Jasper: In my English 102 class, we are required to take different dialogues under
Advance Listening. It’s a good course because students become more
informed… and that at the same develop listening in practical way.

Wilbur: When every time student used a microphone in their headset, I observed it
through Speech Activities… I considered it as a helping tool to develop
speaking skills.

Veronica: For me sir, it’s the video interaction with its conversation… as if you engage
in an actual telephone conversation or in a business industry. You also need
to listen… and interact or speak to the specific questions.

Veronica: There’s no other way to pass for Speaking Up… but to state the given
choices in a clear manner. It’s an additional input from DynEd to be
experienced by students.

Clint: The focus of the DynEd program is English proficiency which is important
for every student…

Jasmin: I believed that the university helps the students… to be good in listening up
to writing… which students need to possess. So far, it helps me a lot in my
English skills.

Wilbur: I know that my participants will agree with me that… hmm... DynEd is
beyond classroom exposure offering more on interactive activities…

Clint: One of the objectives of DynEd is to help students communicate effectively

in a form of activities like speech interaction… and this activity has
objective which is attainable, basically in both written and oral
communication skills.
Jasmin: Although, DynEd is effective in achieving the syllabus objectives for our
English subject… but it may turn to be a failure again if … if students will
just take it for granted and just to pass their subject.

Yasmin: Our teacher informed that our assigned modules are reviewed carefully. In
my Eng101 (Grammar subject), we are exposed to New Dynamic English
lesson…since it was more on grammar focus.

Moderator: What language and program difficulty did you consider as unforgettable?
How does DynEd work to overcome such difficulty? Does the level of
language difficulty appropriate to you? Why?

Wilbur: DynEd language difficulty is appropriate to us like for example… the use
of transitional words or phrase like “along with” in the video interaction…
which I am quite familiar already. And there, it confirmed our knowledge
about basic grammar and its rules.

Jasper: …[We have to] be focused to overcome the difficulty on the accent.
Though, this is a natural of us since we are not into listening their English
accent.

Clint: … [There’s a] the difficulty to follow the right pronunciation or accent to

be recognized by the computer.

Aireen: Most of them find video interaction difficult because… you need to interact
as if engage into a realistic interaction.

Jasmin: I find difficulty on the Mastery Test… because there’s a need to prepare…
and remember the basic information in the presentation.

Wilbur: …[I am] struggling in the Pretest because there’s time given to answer in
every item. My classmates are struggling, too because the software will stop
automatically… if there are consecutive mistakes…
Veronica: …[it’s the] matrix vocabulary enhances students’ vocabulary where new
words are introduced… and the way it should be pronounced.

Aireen: Actually, there’s a vocabulary option provided in the HELP button. Student
has to check it… if needed to know the word’s meaning…

Jasmin: I learn new words or terms from my DynEd classes. It is a good way of
students learn more… simple or complex words…

Yasmin: …[I/we have] lack of familiarity in the city locations… and locating the
exact location on a map because in this part, students are just given with
symbols… and lack of familiarity on the transitional words to be used for
an appropriate location. Thanks to the illustration, it helps a lot.

Aireen: Even beginners can easily use DynEd since illustrations are present to it…

Jasper: There’s a repetition option in which students can repeat if they can’t hear it
clearly, except for the mastery test… which needs focus from the students…

Clint: Sometimes, students cannot get the things being given, there are supports
provided… which they can able to follow. This is basically good for hearing
impairment…

Jasmin: I have identified part of DynEd like mastery test that limits… where it gives
us one chance to take. Most of us are asking for a chance but it depends on
the valid reason. The teacher has the control on it…

Veronica: …[Students must be] careful in taking the post-test and pre-test… Students
cannot manipulate or reopen the test again because the computer will lock
it automatically.
Jasper: DynEd also limits like in all the records. Students cannot change or alter the
accumulated scores because it is final already which it is being synced to
the server…

Clint: There’s an option on DynEd which as a tutorial that allows user… to know
as what part of DynEd they need to focus or… to work with and would tell
what part they did well. In short, comments and suggestions are given on
this option. Sometimes students are not taking it seriously…

Jasper: I admire this DynEd tutorial system because… it gives a clear summary
report of all the interpretations based on the student performance…

Moderator: What kind of content did DynEd offer? In what aspect that activities on
DynEd are related into your subject syllabus?

Yasmin: What is good with DynEd is that… it provides exercises that are not usually
used in the classroom so… this would help students to cater their needs and
interest and that in a way, this will achieve the goals of the syllabus…

Wilbur: The content is interesting but… I am hoping for additional modules to be

added that are related to my course. Video recordings are good input
but…hmm… hoping to update so that it would be pleasing to the eyes.

Veronica: Sadly, sometimes teacher didn’t help students to realize… and relate the
content practically. They have to be trained at the same time…

Clint: DynEd helps students in a way that if they hear a native speaker, they will
find easy to understand… and not be surprised the way they speak using
their accent.

Aireen: It was our first day that I took the placement test. I felt not okay because I
am afraid to be failed… and I never made it. I was quite nervousness and
sometimes, I cannot focus because it is something new in my ears like the
accent.
Wilbur: The university believes that they will produce globally competitive
graduates because the activities employed are more than classroom settings
sir. But it should not be put in useless and must be used in the right place.

Jasper: The usual scenario in which DynEd is a big help for students like in a job
interview or even in joining beauty pageant in which we Filipinos don’t
have translator and that we are using the English language to response to
the question given and with that, I find it… as an advantage. DynEd helps
students in the university to become well-rounded and prepare students in
every situation.

Wilbur: DynEd helps students by applying the learning in reality unconsciously…

and turns to be part of the daily communication and learned expressions like
Thank you for effort, You did very well, Excellent work!, etc. I [It is] highly
recommended.

Yasmin: Unlike in the classroom, students are given a chance to repeat… as to what
part they are interested in. I find it effective because it seems that DynEd
has a direct relationship with the students. Future students must try DynEd.

Moderator: How can you qualify that the content of DynEd has a big help to you and
your future career?

Jasper: I love DynEd so much because it helps me become better, especially in

English… and I am thankful to the university because I have prepared
myself to every English challenge. Recommendation must still be on the
school administration.

Veronica: DynEd is a big help for us and I recommend it because it serves as a stepping
stone, for students to develop our individual capabilities upon honing us…
to be confident enough in speaking using the English language and adopted
the diction of the speakers. And also sir, I am glad that we have it in the
university because… learning does not only take place inside the classroom
but we must go beyond in order to elaborate our knowledge. With this,
education takes place in a dynamic way…
Clint: DynEd proves the learning should be boring and this means that learning is
not just about reading books. Dynamic Education (DynEd) is really a
change of the usual classroom setup. And it offers a lot of approaches to
cater any type of students.

Aireen: DynEd seems to be a reviewer from what students learnt during High
School years… and it helps me improve my grammar and other aspects. It’s
a [an] adventure they brought for me to learn English in the advance level…

Jasmin: Although, DynEd does not only totally develop my four macro-skills but
also it develops my self-confidence.

Moderator: What part of DynEd did you encounter common problems? What can you
suggest or comment about this computerized program?

Jasper: … [there’s] slow or disconnected internet connection sir…that is the usual

problem with our lab class.

Jasmin: There are computer headset problem which I cannot answer the listening
and speaking part…

Clint: …[there’s an] overloading of students’ sir is the reason why lab is out of
computer…

Yasmin: An accent is sometimes a challenge for me and it seems to be a problem to

others…

Wilbur: Our teacher keeps on repeating the instructions on how to use the computer
but still there are students who are not knowledgeable and [still they] don’t
know to operate.
Veronica: I am not discriminating but it is sometimes clear… my classmates who are
not that good in English, tendency is… they usually got failed…

Aireen: Since the two laboratories sir is not enough… it’s the time to put additional
laboratories if possible… it’s because the students find the hard time to
complete the requirements and sometimes, the number of students cannot
be accommodated in one lab…

Jasmin: In my experience, ten hours exposure is not really enough because we tend
to be fast as we can because there are so much lessons and exercises to take
and be done.

Thank You!
