Manifesto

Maaz Razi For Vice-President,

(TISS-SU 2019-2020)
Nothing will work unless you do.
Maya Angelou

The Constitution of our student's union gives two functions to Vice President

1) S/he shall officiate in absence of the president

2) S/he shall be the member of the student's aid committee along with another member nominated from

the union.

But I think a vice president post is not limited to these two functions only but to represent as an office-

bearer in every concern pertaining to TISS Students.

Agenda
Towards an inclusive and democratic environment:
 To maintain peaceful relations arid inclusion of all sections of students community
Irrespective of class, caste, gender, religious belief, sexual orientation, and disability.
 To reclaim the idea of democratic space in TISS, which has been continuously on
target Since the last few years.
 To strengthen the student's aid scheme for economically weak students(from all
background) by mobilizing funds from various trusts and also by strengthening the
alumni network. My aim to contest the election and to choose the vice-president seat
is, lack of money should not be the reason to discontinue the studies in TISS.
 To ensure no Fee hike took place in TISS in coming years.
 To form a board of School Sectaries and organizing a monthly meeting to address the
school level issues.
 To ensure full accessibility for PWD students and working group formulation to
address their issues.
 To ensure professional classes on Interview & GD for placements with coordination
with CGPC and CPC.
 To solve the issues of off-campus hostels (Surjog and RCF) on priority.
 To address the issues of the research scholar and coaching for NET-JRF related exam
to interested students.
 Explore Teaching Assistant (TA), Research Assistant (RA) and viable project work
opportunities for M.Phil.-Ph.D. students. With the help of Research Scholar Secretary,
I will make sure that all research scholars without fellowship get TA and RA ship in
the institute with good pay so that they are able to continue their research work
peacefully.
 To address the problems coming in bio-metric attendance and make them more
students friendly.
 Restructure previous version of Foundation Classes.
 Common room for activities or space for day scholars where they can take nap in
between.
 Active and strong representation of fees issues, academics, and student issues to the
administration.
 To safeguard and promote diversity in TISS.
 To address issues and sensitization of the LGBTQIA community in TISS across all
campuses.
 To ensure special safeguard measures for students from Kashmir and North East.
 To audit DH accounts from DH representatives and publically sharing to students and
 Organising of ‘English Lab’ and ‘Writing Lab’ for students in need.
 Organising local Language Support Classes for students finding difficulties while
interaction in fieldwork.
 To struggle against the administrative policy of moral policing and creating
nonjudgmental and safe spaces for LGBTQIA.
 Coffee/Tea vending machines in hostel/canteens should be open at night (24*7)
 Printing/Xerox facility in the new campus.
 Drug procurement facility in the health center and that too as per need (nearby shops
give a full strip of medicines).

I will ensure the issues which are left out in my manifesto will also be addressed after
taking recommendation from Students.
