A growing number of companies and schools are adopting
a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) as a way to reduce
management and support costs. VDI solutions aid in lower-
ing expenses by using thin client displays and devices in
the place of PCs. They also offer the ability to streamline IT
operations.

Samsung MagicRMS 2.0 remote management software

solution assists IT professionals with the maintenance,
monitoring and overall management of VDI displays and
devices. The solution is built into the thin client technology
of Samsung TX, TB, TS and TC Series. With MagicRMS 2.0,

Industry trends
Maintaining PCs and the environments needed to support
them constitutes a fundamental part of an IT department.
Many companies and schools, however, face increased
expenditures in the management and maintenance of PCs
as models and environments evolve. Organizations are
seeking alternatives to costly PCs, including VDI solutions
with cloud displays and thin client devices.
Companies and schools are including the Samsung TX, TB,
TS and TC Series and other technology with MagicRMS 2.0
software as part of thin client automation initiatives.
Optimize IT support efficiency through remote
update deployment
Samsung MagicRMS 2.0 remote management software
solution enables the remote deployment of client firmware
and operating system (OS) updates. Files can also be sent
to and from the Samsung Cloud Displays and devices
with the MagicRMS 2.0 software solution. Additionally, the
solution enables IT personnel to configure and power the
displays on and off from a central site.
Lower IT expenditures
The RMS solution helps decrease IT department expenses
because personnel no longer have to visit each PC separately
to make firmware and OS updates. The savings can help IT
departments fund strategic projects.

with the MagicRMS 2.0 console
Samsung MagicRMS 2.0 software solution features a console,
which can be used to view information on individual displays or
groups of displays. The console can also be used to:
• Monitor a device by displaying the device status and
the software and hardware version information
• Manage assets by viewing display details and the
importing and exporting of display profiles
• Report on the overall status of Samsung Cloud displays
and devices and events that need the attention of an IT
staff member
The console is designed for ease of use and is based on the
Microsoft® .NET Framework. It also supports a Microsoft
SQL database and comprises five areas: console browser,
main screen, toolbar, properties and status.
• Console browser. Users can view individual network
displays or groups of displays connected to the server,
event logs, scheduled tasks or filter management
details.
• Main screen. IT personnel can view a list of network
displays and logs.
• Toolbar. IT personnel can customize the arrangement
of the key function icons for easier access.
• Properties. IT personnel can view detailed information
about network displays.
• Status. IT personnel can view the current status and
brief details of the displays.
