Comments:
The main purpose of consolidation test is to obtain soil properties which are used in predicting
the rate and amount of consolidation settlement of structures founded on clay. It is an important
factor in foundation design for a structure. The shear strength, bearing capacity, permeability
and various other important engineering characteristics of soil are related to consolidation
process.
