Specific Objectives : Student will be able to learn
measurement of Time and to see
calendar.

Motivation : To make the class interesting some


questions to be asked :
1) What do we use to measuring
time ?
2) How many days are there in a
leap year ?
3) How many days are there in a
year ?

Content : Some topic will be discussed :


1) Measuring time : -
 Clock and watches tell us the
time.
 The longer hand of the clock is
the minute hand .
 The shorter hand is the hour
hand .
1) When the minute hand is at 12,
the hour shows the hour of the
day .

Calendar : -
 A calendar shows the days ,
weeks and months of a year .
1 day = 24 hours
1 week = 7 days
1 year = 365 days
1 year = 12 months

Note : all months other than
February have 30 or 31 days .
February has 28 days , but in a
leap year , it has 29 days .
A leap year = 366 days
Every fourth year is a leap
year.
(This concept will be taught by
knuckle and gaps method . )
Teaching Methodology : With the help of black-board, chalk,
duster ,clock, calendar and topic
related video clips etc .
Project and Activity : Classroom activity : -1) I will write
the months of the year on the
blackboard (out of order ), students
have to write the months of the year
in order .
Who is the fastest ?
2) Practice ordinal numbers .
Ask the students to count in
ordinal numbers starting from 1 st
, alternatively have them start at a
larger ordinal number such as 12th.

Class Work : 1) Exercises of book to be solved


(pg no. – 116,117, 118, 120,
122 , 123)
2) Points will be given to
memorize.
Home Work :
1) Exercises of book to be
practised. ( pg no. – 119,121 )
2) Learn all the points of this
lesson .

Conclusion : 1) Through this lesson the


children will know about
measuring time and calendar .

Formative Assessment : It will be carried out in the form of


written tests and different
assignments.

Learning Outcomes :  Students have learnt about


telling the time.
