Celery seedlings (Apium graveolens L.) is a plant that has a kinship with parsley and coriander plants
used as an aroma enhancer, flavoring cuisine, and traditional medicine. This plants has very bright
prospect to be cultivated. Abu janjang oil palm has an important role to improve pH in peat soils.
Whereas this plants needs N, P and K fertilizers for growth and development. The purpose of this study
was to investigate the best interaction between Abu janjang oil palm dose and N, P and K fertilizer on
the growth and yield of celery on peat soils. This research was conducted at the research house of the
Faculty of Agriculture, Tanjungpura University, Pontianak, lasted from 16 December 2018 to 14 March
2019. This research used a Factorial Complete Randomized Design method consisting of 2 factors with
3 treatments each, 3 replications and 4 plant samples each treatment. The factors referred to are Abu
janjang oil palm (a) and N, P and K fertilizer. The first factor is the provision of Abu janjang oil palm,
called: a1 (56.20 g/ polybag equivalent to 4.5 tons/ha), a2 (75.00 g / polybag is equivalent to 6
tons/ha), and a3 (93.70 g / polybag is equivalent to 7.5 tons/ha). The second factor called the
application of N, P and K fertilizer based on recommended dosage of Sunarjono (2014) Urea 150 kg/ha,
Sp-36 50 kg/ha and KCL 100 kg/ha, called: p1 = 50% recommended dosage of Urea (0.93 g/ polybag is
equivalent to 75 kg/ha, SP-36 0.31 g/ polybag is equivalent to 25 kg / ha and KCl 0.62 g / polybag is
equivalent to 50 kg / polybag), p2 = 75% recommended dosage (Urea 1.40 g / polybag equals 112.5 kg
/ ha, SP-36 0.46 g / polybag is equivalent to 37.5 kg / ha and KCl 0.94 g / polybag is equivalent to 75
kg / ha), and p3 = 100% recommended dosage, (Urea 1.87 g / polybag is equivalent to 150 kg / ha, SP-
36 0.62 g/ polybag is equivalent to 50 kg / ha and KCl 1.25 g / polybag is equivalent to 100 kg / ha Ha).
The observed variables were root volume (cm3), number of leaf stalks, number of tillers, plant fresh
weight (g), and plant dry weight (g). Results of this study found an optimal dose of Abu janjang oil
palm and N, P and K fertilizers for growth and yield of celery on peat soils. This results mention that
an effective dose was 4 tons Abu janjang oil palm and N, P and K fertilizers with 50% dosage
recommendations (75 kg/ha, SP-36 25 kg/ha, and KCl 50 kg/ha).
