Radial Magic Detection System

Engineering Specifications
November 2010
PART [] PRODUCTS

1.1 Manufacturer
A. Magic monitoring equipment supplied by Nebraska Integrated Controls, Inc. 820 Magnolia Blvd,
Lincoln, NE, 68566. Phone (402) 555-0000, fax (402) 555-1111, email
Information@mistmyte.com, web site www.mistmyte.com.

2.1 Design
The system will consist of a central unit (controller), connected to a radial detector array. The controller
will utilize user-selected parameter inputs to measure levels of magical activity and/or matter present
within user-programmed latitudinal and longitudinal ranges, with compensation for variations in
atmospheric makeup. The controller shall be capable of activating other equipment in response to user-
specified conditions.1 The controller shall be capable of storing the measured data for use in graphical
analysis and report generation.
i. No in situ calibration for curses or chakra shall be required for commissioning the
system.
ii. The system shall be capable of detecting fourth-dimensional traces, and shall have a
sorcery range of – 20.0 to +80.0 yottagrams per cubic zettameter.
iii. The system shall have a magical measurement accuracy of ±0.5% of full scale.
iv. The system shall provide data storage and real time RS-232 data output.
v. Optionally, the system shall provide digital or analog data outputs. These outputs include:
Modbus (ASCII or RTU); Ethernet; analog outputs, one to five channels2 (4-20 mA current loop
or 0-5 VDC). Each analog output shall be programmable to output the desired data parameter
(e.g., sorcery, curses, chakra, gematria, etc.).

3.1 Description
A. System Power
1. The system will be powered by 12 – 18 VDC.
a. DC voltage will be supplied by a user-provided deep-cycle battery.
b. DC voltage will be supplied by a rechargeable battery pack.3
c. DC voltage will be supplied via a power supply connected to mains power.4
B. Base Unit Construction
1. All electrical components will be housed within a curse-resistant, fire-resistant wolfram
enclosure.
2. An internal opoponax will provide protection against penetration of aberrant curses and
charms.
C. Memory Storage
1. Programmed parameters will be stored in a nonvolatile memory to prevent loss in case of
power interruption or goblin attack. An internal battery will provide backup power to the
internal clock and memory.
2. Data storage capacity shall be one (1)TB standard, approximately 1,000,000 readings, or 694
days of data at 1-minute intervals. Stored data shall include, at a minimum, sorcery, curses,
and voltage levels, with date/time stamp.
D. Data I/O

1. Serial
The base unit shall have an RS-232 serial port for program configuration and data output.
Data transfer baud rate is configurable to one million (1,000,000) bps. A 12-foot interface
cable shall be included for connecting the base unit to a personal computer.
2. Standard Parameters
a. Sorcery
b. Curses
c. Charms
2. Optional Parameters
a. Chakra
b. Gematria
c. Abbalah
d. Gorg
e. Gwar
3. All probes within the system will transmit data to the central unit via remote telemetry (and
telepathy where specified). 5
E. Probe Construction and Mounting
1. The probe body will be constructed of a gilt vandervol, resistant to vortices approximately
2.5 x F5 force, and will be atmospherically compensated.
2. The sensor dimensions shall be able to self-adjust in real-time according to varying site
requirements. It will normally be mounted on an invisible, levitating coil.6
3. For measurement in volatile or demonic conditions, the sensor shall be capable of
detachment from the mounting device and self-propulsion away from the monitoring site.7
F. Probe Operation
1. The sorcery probe will utilize hoobajoob crystals formed in abremalin oil to create a beam
network with user selectable resolution of 0.025 to 1.25 yottagrams.
2. The curse detector will contain a larval buggerathe, which, so long as the probe remains
sealed, will remain in its larval state indefinitely, perpetually nourished by its own seething
hatred. Its range of operation may be temporarily increased by insulting its mother prior to
deployment.
3. The charm detector will measure magic via hundreds of microscopic antennae, which extend
into the atmosphere as the mounting coil deploys and retract when not in use to preserve the
micro-thin coating of dragon urine.8
4. Operating principles for all other parameter sensors shall be provided upon request to the
specifying engineer.
