INTRODUCTION
M.Tech (Aerospace Engineering) programme is designed in consultation with potential employers, such as
Aircraft Industries (India & Overseas), Aerospace R&D, Airlines, Academic Institutions etc. Aerospace field is
sophisticated and interdisciplinary involving leading-edge technology with rewarding career opportunities.
With the aerospace activities growing worldwide including India, there is a great demand of qualified
Aerospace Engineers. Aerospace Engineers will be employed in the areas of design, manufacture and
maintenance, and will have opportunities to occupy positions in R&D, Industries and Teaching Institutions and
Regulatory bodies. The curriculum includes design and manufacturing of aircraft and spacecraft including
launch vehicles, advances in materials and manufacturing technologies, concurrent engineering,
computerized software tools.

 Career Prospects
AME licence holders are in great demand as the Aviation
industry has rapidly expanded in recent years.
Most of our ex-students are well placed globally in Public Sector
and Private Airlines such as Air India, Jet Airways, Singapore
Airlines, Emirates Airlines and so on. With B.Sc(Aircraft
Maintenance) degree the students have bright future for
employment in wider areas or to take up Post Graduation.

DGCA Examinations
DGCA License Examination
The DGCA License examinations are conducted three times in a
calendar year i.e in the months of February, June and October.
The exams are conducted in modular pattern as per the syllabus.
On completion of the course and three modular examinations,
students have to undergo type rating training to obtain AME
license.
The final AME License examination consists of two papers- one
written exam and a second oral cum practical test. Once these
two papers are cleared, the candidate is issued with the AME
Eligibility license by the DGCA authorizing the licensee to certify that

Course Duration
The course duration is of 3 years / 6 semesters. After
completion of 5 semesters at the Academy, the students
are sent to an Aviation Organisation such as Air India, Jet
Airways, Kingfisher Airlines, Singapore Airlines, etc for on
the job training for a period of six months. This total
period of 3 years is counted as Aviation experience by the
DGCA, Govt. of India.
The students are also required to submit a report to the
university to satisfy the requirement to receive B.Sc
(Aircraft Maintenance) degree.

THE PROGRAMME
Hindustan Aviation Academy, Bangalore offers a four-
year, eight semester Aerospace Engineering degree
course. The course syllabus is structured in such a way
that on completion of the 4-year course, the students
would have learnt all facets of Aeronautical and
Aerospace Engineering. They will also be familiar with
the practical aspects of Aeronautical Engineering
through 'hands on' training on fully serviceable aircraft,
aero-engines and aircraft systems at the Academy.
The B.Tech. programme in Aerospace engineering
offered by HAA, is unique due to the fact that there are
very few institutions in the country which offer such a
programme. The curriculum of the programme is
designed to meet the requirements of Aerospace
organizations and its associates engaged in either
production or R&D. While framing the detailed syllabus
of the programme many salient features of curriculum
followed at IITs and other front runner institutions have
been adopted. The courses are conceived and designed
to prepare Aerospace Engineering graduates with sound
knowledge in Aeronautics and Space technology.
Towards this end experienced faculty members who
worked in industry and R&D offer courses on design of
Aircraft and its systems like Avionics, Engines, rockets,
satellites and missiles. The Graduates will have exciting,
wide-ranging and challenging placement opportunities
and will also have an excellent professional career
growth.

Hindustan Aviation Academy (HAA) was established in 1986 at Bangalore. The Academy has been at the
fore-front of conducting Aeronautical Engineering courses for students and assisting them for placements
in Civil Aircraft Maintenance and Aeronautical Engineering fields during the last two decades. The core
competency of the Academy is in imparting quality education in Aeronautical Engineering. Students who
