Overwhelming happiness with pride can be seen on the faces of the guardians
and parents as they went up the stage to receive the medals and certificates of
recognition. The Awarding of Medals and Certificates were given by the OIC-SDS
Donato Bueno assisted by the principal of GSHS, teacher-in-charge of TNHS and Ms.
Lorna B. Alvarez, GSHS OIC-Assistant Principal.
GSHS ICT2 student With High Honors, Juvielyn D.Lacdao delivered her Valedictory
Address successfully. Tears of joy was evident when she reminisced her school days
and the challenges (specifically in financial matters) she faced together with her
classmates, friends, teachers and family. Likewise, she thanked all those beneath her
wings most especially her family. She wished that someday she could have her own
Lamborghini and a big house for her family.
Donato G. Bueno, OIC-SDS mentioned on his message “What we have is God’s gift
to us and what we become is our gift to God”. This implies that students should “walk the
talk”, as they face the new challenges in their journey, could it be a college life or whatever
career they have to choose. He started his message with a story telling entitled “Diploma”. It
was about the life of a student named Edwin who was able to surpass the trials of his life
with the help of his teacher, Mrs. Chong and at the age of twenty-seven became successful
entrepreneur and owner of a big restaurant in his place.
Ms. Lorna B. Alvarez, introduced the keynote speaker, Cecilia Z. Amaro, Provincial
Director, TESDA Batangas.
The crowd listened attentively as the commencement speaker delivered her speech.
She reminisced her past when she was one of the high school graduates listening to the
boring and lengthy message of the speaker. Thus, she promised to make her speech short
for the listeners. She hoped that all the graduates nowadays will be bringing back the
blessings to our countrymen as she did. She gladly welcome all the graduates to TESDA
as well as wished them good luck to the next chapter of their lives.
The most awaited part of the program was the Distribution of Diplomas. Every
student who went up the stage could be probably uttered, “Finally! I did it!” DepEd Officials
of Batangas City Division namely: PSDS Yolly Banaag, EPSVR Esperanza Lusanta, PSDS
Edelyn Briones, OIC-ASDS Rhina Silva and OIC-SDS Donato Bueno gladly handed the
