Good afternoon teacher and my beloved friends.

WeIcome to my
presentation about Nationalism. First of all, let us all give thank to Allah
Swt that we are all able to gather together today in good health.

My presentation will be split into 2 part,

- First is The fact why nationalism deteriorate

- Second is The strategy of how to strengthen nationalism

What do you think when you hear our national anthem?

Nationalism is a value inside ourself as a part of nation that means

loyalty and love for the country

Soon at august, our beloved country is 74 years old. It had been quite a
long journey and it wasn’t an easy one, because Indonesia was built
with blood, tears, and struggle.

Those tears and blood would not have been shed, if our ancestors of
this nation did not love Indonesia. And I believe that their love towards
Indonesia was immense. Because at the beginning, Indonesia is not
existed yet, the term ‘Indonesia’ itself was extraneous. But, our
ancestors, longing for a home where they can live peacefully without
oppression of foreigners (opponent), fought for that idea. They knew it
would cost them their lives, but they kept on striving. And today, we
can see that their hard work paid off, as now Indonesia is an
independent country.

Deteriorate: (the fact why nationalism deteriorate especially in this

case is the youth generation)

- Lack of implantation of nationalism value

- Media influence in between globalitation
- Lack of role model, like from the leader, public officer.
 Althought that person already had education about nationality since
at primary school, but that person might be didn’t have proud
feeling about the nationality. That’s mean there is something off
with the way of educate itself.

Strategies: (to strengthen nationalism)

It has to do by based on history background and our country’s principle

which is Pancasila. So that was the point for build awareness to the
importance of nationalism value. That way is to avoid from the crisis of
identity.

Now is our moment to show our love towards Indonesia. It is our

responsibility to carry on their struggles. The fights will not be over until
every Indonesian can sleep sound at night, wearing comfortable clothes
with full stomach. There are many ways to show expression of our love
towards Indonesia.

I believe that the simplest way is by :

1. being a good citizen who helps those in needs,

2. contributes in social activity,
3. pays taxes,
4. supports government programs and gives criticism in a mannered
way when necessary,
5. does not do corruption nor drugs,
6. votes during election,
7. buys product locally made from Indonesia, and any other small
but meaningful gesture of virtue.

At a glance, love towards our country or nationalism seems to be

delicate. But in the end, it’s all about love. The best way to show it, is by
being sincere. Just like a mother who raises her child, until one day the
mother gets old and the child takes care of her. That is what we are
doing. We were borned and raised in this country which provided us
with everything we needed. Now, it is our time to give back to it. Simply
by being the best person that we can be.

Let’s be a better person, starting from today. Let’s unite the diversity,
be more involved in our society, and solve problems together. And
hopefully one day we can live in a prosperous Indonesia.
