The list of stories showed us a lesson that a Filipinos have. We, Filipinos have a unique
way of values that differ us to the other. Values plays a very important role in individual being, it
is also the basic beliefs that guide and motivate us.

House of Life

In our society today, we tend to do our first step to achieve our goal or task in a hurry, that
is why the outcome is unexpected in your expected expectation. In the beginning, we saw a quote
that say, “Treat life with respect and life will reveal its beauty to you.” This quote tries to explain
the importance of life in individual / us. Based on the short story, there are two people that portrait
us in everyday situation, the impatience one or the in a hurry people that they did not see the beauty
of life because of their attitude while the humble one wait until he see the beauty of life because
of his patience to wait. In the end, the impatience or in a hurry people try for the second chance to
see again the beauty of life. Life is not empty at all, but life moves in mysterious way because we
did not know what challenges or surprises that might give us.

Father’s Mistake - No Time

A father’s mistake is usually common to our nature. As a father, they want to do his best
to give and support his dream life, the need and want of his family but in the short story, the father
left his family to od his work in such a long time but time flies, his family forget him. In the first
line of quote, “We can get so involved in what we are doing that we forget why we are doing it”
that means while we do our best to achieve it, we forget the cause why we need to achieve it. In
the second line, “We are so involved in living that we forget the purpose of living” explain to us
the purpose of living but we forget it. In the third line, “We get so involved in pursuing the the
things money can buy that we forget about the things that money can’t buy.” Like the situation of
the father is in, he pursues his career that his happiness left him.

The Truth About Lies

As a person telling lies and truth are difficult whenever we disguised are doings. It is better
to tell the truth rather than believing in lies even it is white lies.

To Every Man His Due

 Living in a pleasant life and the like are so different. Like the farmer and the baker, who
always exchange the same number of pounds but when the baker finds out that the bibingka is
short with one pound he confronted the farmer. The baker accused the farmer without the
knowledge of the man’s living. Justice makes us a rightfulness and lawfulness person. We do not
always agree to an argument at least it has a strong foundation to support it.

It focuses in the giving, but it talks about the concern in the environment. If you give others
