Scenerio:
Usman and Ali work in XYZ Company as sales executives. Usman is very hard working and
meets his deadlines efficiently. He loves his job and is always on time at work. On the other
hand, Ali often comes late, avoids responsibilities and puts no efforts in accomplishment of his
tasks. The company has strict policy against employees who are not punctual. One day Ali came
30 minutes late. Usman reminded him about the company policy and warned him that this
routine may harm his job. Ali got angry and told Usman that he should mind his own business
and no one would know that he was coming late. Usman did not like his behavior and decided
not to talk to him anymore.
Identify the type of conflict between Usman and Ali. Discuss with
reasoning.

Ans:Frustration, stress and burnout
When people become frustrated or stressed they are more irritable and more likely to
create conflicts than at other times. It is important to recognise the signs of stress in
people's work situations in order to prevent burnout. Try to help people identify the
causes of work related stress, and take steps to change these factors or, better still, try
to anticipate possible causes of stress before they arise. These factors could include:
Lack of ability to influence the working environment
Tension between staff members
Lack of direction from management
Criticism and lack of support
Poor communication

Usman is stressed and frustrated due to late coming of Ali in office because he is punctual and done his work
at time , so he can't avoid Ali behavior relates to his job and this conflict occurred.
Which conflict resolution technique Usman can use to resolve this conflict? Discuss
Ans:
Manage stress quickly while remaining alert and calm. By staying calm, you can accurately read
and interpret verbal and nonverbal communication.
Control your emotions and behavior. When you’re in control of your emotions, you can
communicate your needs without threatening, intimidating, or punishing others.
Pay attention to the feelings being expressed as well as the spoken words of others.
Be aware of and respect differences. By avoiding disrespectful words and actions, you can almost
always resolve a problem faster.
To successfully resolve a conflict, you need to learn and practice two core skills:
Quick stress relief: the ability to quickly relieve stress in the moment.
Emotional awareness: the ability to remain comfortable enough with your emotions to react in
constructive ways, even in the midst of a perceived attack.
