PREPARATORY WORK (ANNEXURE)

The following work is necessary for timely execution of the project and would not form a part of the work
in our scope.

GENERAL

• All the necessary civil and electrical works shall be in your scope.

• Storage room area 35sq.mt. per lift with weather protection and locking arrangement and
provision of single phase light and power plug of 15amps.Capacity.Storage room must be within
the radius of 10M from erection site. It must be kept ready before arrival of material at site and
will remain in possession of installation engineer till the erection of lift is completed and handed
over to the owner.

• Lift scaffolding in the lift shaft before start of lift installation. All minor builders work shall be in
your scope.

MACHINE ROOM

• Adequate ventilation for the machine room with rain protected windows or louvers with exhaust
fans or air conditioning system so that the temperature of the machine room doesn’t exceed to
45degree C.

• Suitable access door preferably with louvers to machine room with RCC steps or M.S.
staircase with hand railing.

SERVICES
• Machine room access door should be M.S. in two panels hinged type construction opening
outward and clear entrance not less than 900mm wide x 2000mm high with a proper locking
arrangement .A danger notice board must be displayed permanently on outside.

• A trap door with steel enclosure should be provided for each machine room.

• One hook/ hoisting beam to carry 5000kg load grouted exactly above the car center as
indicated in the layout. One hook/hoisting beam to carry 1500kg. Load grouted exactly in the
center of the trap door location. The load hooks should be cast while lying the RCC roof slab
of the machine room.

• Reinforced concrete machine room slab of 230mm thickness designed to sustain more than
1000kg/sq.mts. U.D.L. all over its surface in addition to specific load shown.

• Machine room floor slab must be cast after the slab marking for the rope pocket holes is done by
our installation team.

• Machine room walls, floor and ceiling to be treated and painted to minimize accumulation
and circulation of dust.

• Suitable IPS flooring of thickness 50mm (minimum) after installing all the equipment in
place.

• RCC solace for fixing the machine bed frame.

POWER & LIGHTING CIRCUITS AND SWITCHES

• 415V, 50Hz, 3 phase , 4 wire type of armored cable of size 10.0


sq.mm(copper) per phase from meter room to machine room.

• One light switches of 230V, 50Hz, 1 phase and of capacity 10apms. To be connected to
main 415V main line in machine room before 3 phase power supply to the main switch.

• Two separate earth terminals in the machine room as per local code. (25mm x 3mm copper
strips recommended)

• Adequate permanent lighting arrangement with switch in machine room.

• Convenient outlet 15A in machine room for use of power tools.

230V light points along with bulb in bulkhead fitting and 3-pin plug and switch on wooden
board in the lift shaft 0.5meters distance from highest and lowest point in shaft intermediate
point at 3.5 meters spacing. Lowest board should have a parallel switch that can be
operated from the floor.

HOISTWAY

• Hoist way of dimensions mentioned in layout drawings are minimum clear plumb
dimensions in mm, and hence the actual wall should not encroach on these dimensions.

• The hoist way should be without any projection and recess from machine room to the pit
floor.

• If any projection or recesses are there, the those should be flushed and leveled on
underside to an angle less than 60 degree from the horizontal by means of metal plates or
cement.

• Service pipes, ventilation ducts, electrical conduits etc. for other purpose are not allowed
to run in lift well and machine room.

• Front wall at ground floor must not be constructed until all lift equipment are set in position,

• Entrance wall with rough opening of width indicated to be constructed.

• The lintel should be cast for every landing with the height from the finished floor level to
underside of lintel as indicated on the layouts.

• All landing entrances of the lift should be closed properly and protected by suitable material
till lift installation is completed.

• Hoist way walls to be treated and painted to minimize accumulation and circulation of
dust.

• Architrave fixing and finishing to be done after fixing of doors and door frames on all
floors.

SERVICES
PIT

• Pit floor should be strong enough to bear the load as indicated.

• Pit floor should be maintained in dry and clean condition.

• RCC socales for fixing car and counterweight buffers whenever required.

• RCC or Brick partition wall up to 2050mm height to be provided if 2 lifts are in common shaft.

• Fixed vertical iron ladder in pit of size 400mm x 2200mm high made out of 25mm x 25mm x
4mm though M.S. Angle.

• Pit floor and walls to be treated for waterproofing and white washed to minimize accumulation
and circulation of dust.

SCOPE OF WORK

CLIENT’S SCOPE

Lift well with enclosure civil and miscellaneous work: -

Lift well with enclosure, waterproof lift pit machine room with doors, staircase etc.

RCC sockless in the pit machine room.

Overhead hooks/beam in the machine room.

Cutting and making goods of holes for fixing, brackets, control board, speed governor, landing

Supply of fixing steel doors frames at each at each landing including slots for lock, in case of swing
doors.

Scaffolding and making wooden templates in the shaft at the time of lift erection.

Grouting/welding brackets, control board, speed governor, landing push button etc.

SERVICES
ELECTRICAL WORK:-

Three phase and single phase power supply in machine room through the lift shaft from the meter by
wiring between meter to main switch in the machine room.

Double ear thing to the machine and ECE’S motor.

GUARANTEE & VARANTY:-

Guarantees only the material and workmanship of the equipment for a period of the 36 month from
the date of completion of assembly at site. The guarantee extended here in confirmed to repair and
replacement of the defective parts for the one year only does not cover any consequential resulting
liabilities, damages or losses in monetary terms or otherwise. Servicing 24 month.

CONDITION OF CONRACT

1. Payment shall be made pro rata of the contract amount per elevator as below: 50% Advance

(Booking Charge)

30% Material dispatch to side

10% when Installation

10% During hand over.
