What’s New is introduced as a teaching-learning activity wherein learners will pick a category of
their choice and search for the latest updates or research findings to share with the rest of the class.
This activity addresses the following learning outcomes:
• Apply basic research skills in searching, selecting, and citing references in the study of anatomy
and physiology
• Demonstrate professionalism in interacting with facilitators and peers
• Demonstrate diligence in accomplishing guided learning activities inside and outside the
classroom
INSTRUCTIONS
1. After choosing a category, the group of learners must search and propose three specific topics
on latest updates and research findings (published between 2017 and 2019). The proposed
topics may come in the following forms:
a. Research study published in a credible peer-reviewed journal or publication
b. Research study presented in a conference

with proper citation, as well as the names of the group members. The second slide must
contain everything else which is necessary to present. Only two slides are allowed. The slides
must be submitted through email by the Tuesday before the scheduled presentation day.
4. On the day of the presentation, the group is given 5 minutes to share What’s New with the
class. After the presentation, the audience will be allowed to ask questions.
