Different Dances

1.Cha cha cha or cha cha - Is a type of Latin dance which is very rhythmic in its appeal.

-This dance is energetic with slow movements as well.

2. Jive - Another lively form of ballroom dance.

-Belongs to the 5 dances of Latin American styles.

-A dance style that had taken the 30’s and 40’s.

-Dancers mostly moved to jazz music.

3. Paso Doble - This lively dance is also a Latin dance style with less emphasis on hip movement.

-Based on the sounds and the movements used in Spanish bullfights.

4. Rumba - This sensual dance is based on slow hip movement.

-Rumba belongs to the International Standard as the American’s style.

-Known for the beauty of steps that are coordinated on a slow rhythm.

5. Samba - This beautiful and energetic dance has many forms.

-The steps may differ in Samba that the dances as per the ballroom style and the traditional style samba
choreography.

6. Lambada - Sexy and stylish.

-Is a Brazilian dance that is performed as a couple or even as groups.

7. Swing - Is a lively style of social dancing in which a dancer often lifts, spins and flips his or her partner.

-Considered both hip and cool, swing dancing is a favorite among social dancers of all ages.

8. Ballet - A dance that was developed in France and Russia.

-Classical ballet- is the most formal and common style of ballet.

9. Breakdance- Popularized by Michael Jackson.

-A form of street dance that was a part of hip-hop culture.

-Is a relatively male-dominated style of dance.

-The “Downrock” and the “freeze” are some of the typical forms of breakdance.

10. Hip hop - Is a combination of dance moves combined with loads of attitude as well as colorful dance wear.

-There are various other styles used with hip hop dance, which includes popping and locking.

11. Tap - Is an extremely popular form of dance.

-The emphasis is on the movements of the feet and steps that create a tapping sound.

-Originated in United States.

-The tapping sound is due to the presence of metal plates on the soles of the shoes.

12. Jazz Dance - Originated in the African-American culture.

-Technique is essential for jumps and turns, where correct posture is essential to properly execute such moves.
-Jazz dancers' strong and sharp movements are greatly aided by a good background in ballet technique.

13. Modern Dance - Involves the use of many dance steps that are unusual and often interpret a dancer’s emotions and
mood.

-Is not only about choreography that’s peaks about the emotions to be conveyed.

14. Belly Dance - Arabic expressive dance which originated in Egypt and that emphasizes complex movements of the
torso.

-The dancer typically perform on a bare feet.

15. Flamenco Dance- Is a part of Spanish culture.

-Flamenco dancers try to express their deepest emotions by using body movements and facial expressions.

-As the dancers perform, they may also clap their hands or kick their feet. Many dancers also snap
small percussion handheld instruments called "castanets."
