INTRODUCCION
El presente trabajo, tratará tema recurrente al verbo modal MAY que expresa la
posibilidad de que algo va a ocurrir, pedir un favor o dar permiso, se tratara
sobre el significado y en qué ocasiones podemos utilizarlo.
Y como último se incluirá una práctica que será entregada a los participantes.

El verbo modal may al igual que otros verbos modales no se conjugan (no
cambian) según la persona y siempre van seguidos de la forma base de un
verbo (por ejemplo: may go, may participate, may say). Además, no
necesitan un auxiliar en la formación de preguntas ni en las oraciones
negativas. Por lo tanto este verbo modal no tiene una contracción posible en la
forma negativa ni en la positiva.

ORACIONES AFIRMATIVAS
ORACIONES NEGATIVAS:
Para negar solo necesitas agregar la palabra NOT después de la palabra MAY.
La estructura gramatical sería de esta manera:
ORACIONES INTERROGATIVAS:
Para preguntar solo invertimos de posición el sujeto y el verbo MAY. Recuerda
que no necesitas de un auxiliar: ‘
EJERCICIOS
A: I may do it
N: I may not do it
I: may I do it?
Puede que llueva.
A: It may rain.
N: It may not rain.
I: may it rain?
Puede que lo sepan (ellos/as).
A: They may know it.
N: They may not know it.
I: may they know it?
Puede que el señor Johnson recuerde.
A: Mr. Johnson may remember.
N: Mr. Johnson may not remember.
I : May Mr. Johnson not remember.
Usted puede salir del aula sin permiso.
A: You may leave the classroom without permission.
N: You may not leave the classroom without permission.
I : May you not leave the classroom without permission.
Quizá venga la semana que viene.
A: I may come next week.
N: I may not come next week.
I : May I not come next week.
