INDUSTRY BRIEF
Automobile Industry of India is one of the largest revenues generating sector of
India. Indian automotive industry is expected to be the world’s third largest
market by 2030, only behind China and the U.S. This industry has itself in various
segmentation. Number of products are manufactured each day. The sector also
has an influence of government intervention.

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
 Why people are brand specific, even though the competitors are
providing similar features with assurance more or less the same price?
 Why people are still unaware about the other existing brands?
 Issue of employment generation & retention of employees in the industry.
 Segmentation problem: why it is hard for companies to change segment
 Drastic drop in sales of Cars in 2018 which is lowest in last two decades

LITERATURE REVIEW
It is the era of customer delight for the industry and conventional measures
implemented by the service organisation tend to be inadequate to attract
customers persistently. How they can retain and sustain in the market by gaining
competitive advantage from competitors. Having good customer base depends
upon customer relationship management in automobile industry.

PURPOSE AND SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY


Automobile sector is one of the influential sectors of an economy. India is at an
inflexion point in terms of automotive growth. Research and development in
this sector have its own importance, new innovations& technology are the key
factors which make the sustainability of these companies in this industry.
Reason behind choosing this sector is to have a deep understanding regarding
this, what are the growth opportunities of various Indian brands and foreign
brands in economy like India. Efforts put by companies to have strong customer
base, what are the various different loyalty programs conducted by the
companies.
STATEMENT OF OBJECTIVES
 To have a deep understanding of this sector, why customers are so brand
specific.
 To understand the distribution channel of this sector.
 To know the brand awareness of foreign & Indian brands.
 To know why gaining competitive advantage over other companies is
important to sustain in market.
 To understand the importance of after sales service in this sector.
 To know how governments influences the decision making of big
companies.
 To analyse the crisis in Automobile sectors and the effects of the crisis

METHODOLOGY
The methodology will be used is facts and figures available on online resources
and interaction with the dealers of the various showrooms and ground level
interactions.

EXPECTED OUTPUT
Exploring and studying this industry will help me out to know the growth
prospective of this sector, what the limitations are and how to overcome. Effect
of low costs automation, stable economic policies and governments policies &
interventions helps to grow this sector and how it contributes to economy. And
the reasons for present recession in this sector and what we can expect in future
from this sector.
