The Dangers: People Becoming too Dependent on Technology

(Thesis Statement )

We can say that technology is a wonderful thing and there os doubt that we're currently living
in the age of technological advancement. There is no denying that we are too dependent or
reliant on technology because of its advancement, it enable us to do things easier than they
were before, for example is when you are looking for an answer for your homeworks, years ago
you had to physically go and spent time in the library to look for a book to get your answers.
Now it's more convenient because in one just clck on a button you can already get your
desirable answers. We human are dependent on technology because it made our life so
convenient that being without it is a scarry very scary thought. What would happen to us if we
do without our mobile phones. If there is no internet means no work for us because some
organization are depend heavily on the internet, work comes to a standtills, the email cannot be
sent to client.

According to Carrs, 2010 'The real danger we face from computer automation is dependency.'
our inclination to assume that computers provide a sufficient subtitute for our own intelligence
has made us all to hand important work over to software, leaving us humans useless. Some
people already knew that our skills or talent were already lost because of technology. As an
accounting student, I observe that noboday tries to calculate anything in their head as everyone
has a calculator on their phones. Another aspect that affected by the advancement of
technology is the art of conversation, people rarely pick up the phone to make a call any more.
Meaning that simple speech communication, not just face to face is at risk.

However, despite the points that i have noted above, there is also a points that being reliant on
technology isn't the same as being dependent. We are not dependent on technology that much
because there also a belief that technology are a life necessity, technology is not the problem, it
is the way we use it. Because if we use it as a tool instead of as a way to escape reality.
According to carrs, 2010 'it is the way our technology habits affect our behaviour and cognitive
functions'. For example is when you check your phone from time to time to check something.

If we use our thinking wisely, they will open new posibilities for us. Either we are reliant or not
on technology to survive in this world, but we certainly would be evolve as we are today. We
should respect the capabilities of our technology and we should also respect our own talent
even more. We should be more responsible for the things that come to us.
