What I have learned during the 1st Unified Intramurals

The first unified intramurals was indeed a very new experience for me, especially to us,
seminarians. It was the intramurals which I would hopefully never forget. It was through the
unified intramurals in which I experienced things that are quite new, breath-taking, and exciting.

I was one of those who wore the green team t-shirt during the intramurals. Our team
name was team Mathetai. I really had the chance of meeting new faces and surely had a great
time of knowing them. Our team leader assigned to each one of us, a specialized task in which
we will hopefully fulfill for the success of our team. I was assigned by our team leader in
practicing my fellow teammates for the music night. The music night was the opening night of
the first unified intramurals which included the choral, quartet, and solo singing competition. At
first, I didn’t have the guts to practice my team for the music night competition. It was because I
haven’t tried of practicing a group of people to sing for a competition. I was a bit scared and
hesitant of accepting the responsibility given to me by our team leader. But then I just prayed to
God that He will give me strength and courage to combat my fears and accept the responsibility
whole heartedly for the welfare of my team. Then through the practices with my team, I come to
realize that it was not that hard I guess, but as long that it is what I love and what I am happy of.
Those little experiences made myself realize of being a leader. As a leader, it is important that to
know first who my members are. I must also know their strengths, capabilities, and limitations.
During my choral practices with my teammates, I really appreciated their cooperation with me.
