INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

Moreover, a computer reservation system is a computerized system used to store

and retrieve information and conduct transactions related to air travel, hotels, car rental,

or other activities. Originally designed and operated by airlines, CRSs were later extended

for the use of travel agencies.

Reservation System is commonly used in businesses such as: hotels, resorts, air

and ocean travels, and other relevant activities like weddings, baptism and even funeral

services. These activities must be scheduled ahead of time for the church to cater the

needed service. Hence, scheduling must be done to avoid overbooking of events.

Some churches find it hard to manage all events systematically especially those

churches that are still using manual process. This manual process can cause redundancy

and difficulties in gathering the data or information of the client. In addition, there is a

possibility that the information or data gathered from the client will be lost because of

some unavoidable reasons and circumstances. However with the advent of technology,

common problems in keeping records and processing services will now be possible.
PROJECT OVERVIEW

Online Church Management System with Application of SMS Notification and

Selection Sorting Algorithm is a System Software for St. Peter Parish Church in Balibago

Santa Rosa City of Laguna to solve and provide solution for the general and specific

problem of the management.

The overview of the system includes the following:

 The official member can access the financial scheme,

 Online membership form registration,

 The system provide PayPal payment procedure;

 Sending Email Notification status, and

 Members can access the church upcoming events through online.

The ideal scheduling system is user friendly to eliminate the stress of the user and is

suitable for 18 years old and above. In addition, it is accessible to the members and easy

to understand on the part of the users.

EXISTING SYSTEM

From the information gathered by the researchers, the management of St. Peter

Parish Church is currently using the manual process in scheduling and planning upcoming

events. The client is required to go directly in the office, before availing the schedule of

the event they wish to have. Then the management will process their request; setting the

desired date, the place and other needed things. Upon processing the initial information

the clients are obliged to be back for the needed requirements. Failure to do so will be a

subject for the relocation of the supposed events.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The significance of the system to be proposed are to minimize the efforts

of the management as well as for the client, and to store and organize data, In

addition to provide productivity with liability in scheduling and planning events.

Hence, the researchers intended to point out the relevance of the study to the

following:

1) The Future Researchers

The future researchers will be able to use this study as a basis for future reference

in developing and improving the stated study.

2) Asian Institute of Computer Studies

This study will also be used as a reading material for the students who wish to

have additional knowledge and thoughts for their research.

3) To the Valuable Clients

For all the clients of the church, the system will provides, a convenient way for

reservation and follow ups, the SMS Notification is embedded to the system and use to

send and receive data to others from far away to near.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The general problem of the study is the manual processing system used by the

church of Chair of St. Peter Parish.

 The clients have to answer all the necessary information personally which would

take so much time;

 Loss of information and other important papers and confidential files due to

negligence and other reasons;

 Consuming too much time for searching data and information;

 More space is needed in the office to store the files or documents;

 Difficulties in finding available date and time because of manual searching and

it would require too much effort on the part of the employee;

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The primary objectives of the present study are to develop a system that can help

in terms of scheduling events chronologically and to ensure liability, accountability and

satisfaction.

Specific Objectives of the Studies are the following:

 To assure time management in accessing the information quick and easy;

 To store data and information into the database with no limitation;

 To provide complete necessary data and information;

 To provide email notification

 To maximize the knowledge in technology to expedite the productivity;

 To give secured data and information for the benefit of the client; and

 To minimize the efforts of staff and the clients.

THE SCOPE AND DELIMITATION OF THE STUDY

The Scope

The general scope of the system is to provide a slot for the client by signing the

membership form through online and giving them an insight about the entire program

such as: the time when they want to start and to end, the official members can see their

status regarding the financial statement, the guest are capable and authorized to see all

the available upcoming events and the necessary requirements for the specific program

and events, In addition, if the clients are too confidential there are some terms and

condition that they need to follow like additional fee, and the condition defends on the

deal between the church and the company. Moreover, the system gives security to assure

the privacy of individual client. Membership can be used if they want to have a discount

or offers in their second event. And in terms of payment the system provide PayPal

payment procedure to minimize the efforts of individual.

The system is reliable and it gives satisfaction by sending Email Notification to

the client for follow ups, and updating the latest status, so that the time for the client to

follow up via direct communication will be lessen.

The most common way to store data and information is to create a system with a

database to assure that the time for searching the information about the client will be

minimized and optimized the efforts of individual by organizing and sorting data, and

also to avoid difficulties in storing data.

The Delimitation

The introduction and the implementation of the system to the church require term

and condition made by the developer and the researchers. It is vital for the church to be

informed on the rules and regulations of the proposed system. The rights of the developer

and the company are very important in implementing a system.

The general limitations of the study are the following:

1) The system is not capable of handling and managing the flow of the entire

program.

2) The system will not work without internet.

3) Possibility of shortage of electricity can affect the entering of data to the database

and the system is only suitable for the specific area with a large number of growth

populations.

4) The Short Message Service (SMS) Notification is only for the follow ups to the

clients and not for reservation.

5) The system cannot provide SMS Notification for those people who doesn’t have

email specifically google and yahoo mail.

The limitation according to the researchers pertains to the outside part where the

span or range is limited to reach, also it describes the things that cannot be done or

impossible to accomplish. Terms and condition is an agreement between the developer

and the church, to know the things that they need to do in implementing the system.
