Simple Present Tense


Formula :
(+) subject + verb 1 + complement or subject + am/are/is + complement
(-) subject + do/does not + verb 1 + complement or subject + am/are/is + not + complement
(?) do/does + subject + verb 1 + complement? or am/are/is + subject + complement?
Example :
(+) they swim in the river (+) Rinna is funny
(-) they do not swim in the river (-) Rinna is not funny
(?) do they swim in the river? (?) is Rinna funny?

2. Present Continuous Tense


Formula :
(+) subject + am/are/is + verb-ing + complement
(-) subject + am/are/is + not + verb-ing + complement
(?) am/are/is + subject + verb-ing + complement?
Example :
(+) he is sweeping in the yard (+) Rita is sleeping in the room
(-) he is not sweeping in the yard (-) Rita is not sleeping in the room
(?) is he sweeping in the yard? (?) is Rita sleeping in the room?

3. Present Perfect Tense


Formula :
(+) subject + has/have + verb 3 + complement
(-) subject + has/have + not + verb 3 + complement
(?) has/have + subject + verb 3 + complement ?
Example :
(+) I have cleaned my bedroom (+) Rinna has swept the yard
(-) I have not cleaned my bedroom (-) Rinna has not swept the yard
(?) have I cleaned my bedroom? (?) has Rinna swept the yard?

4. Present Perfect Continuous Tense


Formula :
(+) subject + has/have + been + verb-ing + complement
(-) subject + has/have + not + been + verb-ing + complement
(?) has/have + subject + been + verb-ing + complement?
Example :
(+) he has been attending school (+) i have been standing in front of the house
for since 2010 the past 2 hours
(-) he has not been attending school (-) i have not been standing in front of the
house
since 2010 for the past 2 hours
(?) has he been attending school (?) have i been standing in front of the house

5. Simple Past Tense
Formula :
(+) subject + verb 2 + complement or subject + was/were + complement
(-)subject + did not + verb 1 + complement or subject + was/were + not + complement
(?) did + subject + verb 1 + complement? or was/were + subject + complement ?
Example:
(+) I worked hard for my mother (+) He was smart
(-) I did not work hard for my mother (-) He was not smart
(?) did I work hard for my mother? (?) was he smart?

6. Past Continuous Tense


Formula :

(-) subject + was/were + not + verb-ing + complement

Example :
(+) I was singing when he said (+) he was writing when the teacher explained
hello the lesson

7. Past Perfect Tense


Formula :

(-) subject + had + not + verb 3 + complement

Example :
(+) I had cleaned the bedroom (+) mom had finished cooking before going to

(-)I had not cleaned the bedroom (-)mom had not finished cooking before going

8. Past Perfect Continuous Tense


Formula :

Example :
(+) you had been studying for 3 hours (+) Bobi had been going for 3 days

9. Simple Future tense


Formula :
(+) subject + will/be going to + verb 1 + complement
(-) subject + will not/be not going to + verb 1 + complement

Example :
(+) I will go to bali (+) I will greduate with the best title

10. Future Continuous Tense


Formula :
(+) subject + will/be going to + be + verb-ing + complement
(-) subject + will not/be not going to + be + verb-ing + complement
(?) am/are/is + subject + verb-ing + complement?
Example :
(+) Nita will be going to yogyakarta for a vacation (+) I will be going to school in Japan
(-)Nita will not be going to yogyakarta for a vacation (-) I will be not going to school in Japan
(?)will Nita be going to yogyakarta for a vacation? (?) will I be going to school in Japan?

11. Future Perfect Tense


Formula :
(+) subject + will have + verb 3 + complement
(-) subject + will not have + verb 3 + complement

Example :
(+) I will have finished my laundry (+) I will have completed my assignment
(-) I will not have finished my laundry (-)I will not have completed my assignment

12. Future Perfect Continuous Tense


Formula :

Example :

Example :

14. Past Future Continuous Tense

Example :

Formula :

Example :
(+) she would have been crying for 2 hours (+) sasa would have been dancing for 3 months
