CHP575 – NSD570 IEC61850 GOOSE

Interface

Course goal
This course provides detailed information about the NSD570 IEC61850 GOOSE Interface. After the suc-
cessful completion of this course, the participants will be able to configure and maintain the equipment
for a connection with IEC61850 GOOSE protection device equipment.

Main learning objectives Prerequisites

The participants will be able to:
— Understand the principle of IEC61850 SAS
relevant to NSD570 GOOSE Interface
— Summarize the IEC61850 SAS features on
NSD570
— List the different System Engineering
approach
— Distinguish the different IEC61850 files
required for the NSD570 configuration
— Apply the tool ITT600 SA Explorer for the
simulation of Protection Device Equipment
and GOOSE communication
— Configure the IEC61850 features on NSD570
and the GOOSE Protection Interface using
the HMI570 software
— Test the equipment for the IEC61850
features
— Summarize and interpret the maintenance
and alarm/status reporting functions on
NSD570 related to IEC61850
Participant profile
Operation & maintenance personnel, system
engineers, commissioning engineers, test
engineers
Good knowledge of IEC61850 SAS is an ad-
vantage. Attendance of the course ‘IEC 61850
Substation Automation Systems - Fundamen-
tals’ (CHP107) is an advantage.
Very Good knowledge of standard NSD570
Equipment.
Attendance of course ‘NSD570 Teleprotection
Equipment ‘(CHP574) is required.
