1. What was the biggest challenge you faced while planning the lesson?
 In all honesty, my group did not face many challenges planning the lesson
however, if I had to point out one challenge, it would have to be deciding which
language we were going to conduct our lesson in. At first, we were considering
doing sign language but then we ultimately came to the decision to take on
Spanish. Although this task at first seemed a bit intimidating, overall, this was a
fun way to get introduced to the course.
2. What was the biggest challenged you faced while teaching the lesson?
 The biggest challenge my group faced while teaching the lesson was timing.
Memorizing and getting the correct pronunciation was not an issue however,
once we completed our lesson, we had a little more than a minute which we
then had to do some impromptu. During that time, we did some revision and re-
teaching. We also extended our activity.
3. What did you rely on the most during your instruction to overcome these challenges?
 During our impromptu, we had to rely on each other to step in. Furthermore, we
relied on our activities that we did throughout the lesson in order to hit the five-
minute mark.
4. Was communication with your students easier or more difficult than you originally
thought?
 My group conducted our lesson in Spanish which many people have a solid
foundation and understating of due to high school and middle school language
classes and past experiences. That being said, I did not think that communicating
with my students would be too much of a challenge which it was not. We did
have visuals as our objective was to identify four basic colors (red, blue, green,
yellow) so we had four cut out circles that were colored red, blue, green, and
yellow. We also used hand motions to give the students a better understanding
of what we were trying to instruct.
5. Do you feel you used co-teaching as effectively as you could have?
 I feel as though I used co-teaching effectively. In terms of my group, we worked
effectively together as we all put in our input and brainstormed our lesson and
activity ideas. We put our thoughts together and created a lesson plan which
consisted of all our input. Furthermore, we were in contact with each other
outside of the classroom in order to discuss further details.
6. Do you feel you achieved your objective? How can you be sure you did or didn’t?
 Although we did not do a summative assessment, we did conduct a formative
assessment activity which allowed the whole class to participate and gave an
opportunity for the teacher to monitor the students’ learning and understanding
of the objective. To make sure each student got a thorough understanding we
could have handed out an exit slip or a worksheet that the teacher could collect
at the end of class. An exit slip is a type of informal assessment which provides
the teacher a measure of how well each student understood the lesson.
7. As a student of other group’s lessons, what was the biggest challenge you faced?

 As a student of other group’s lessons, the biggest challenge I faced was
thoroughly comprehending the directions and objectives in the beginning of
each lesson however, as the lesson progressed, and everyone began to
participate, it was easier to understand each activity and objective.
8. As a student, what did you rely on most to comprehend what was being taught?
 As a student, I relied on hand gestures and visuals provided by either
PowerPoints or numbers and words on the board. I also relied on my prior
knowledge from the Spanish I took throughout middle school and high school
which gives me a basic foundation.
