A. Statement of the Problem

The study determined which among the adolescents - related factors influence the
adolescent’s attitude towards sexuality. It also discussed what the attitudes of adolescents
towards sexuality are in terms in different domains. Now more adolescents get involved
in different crimes, drugs, alcohol, sex and other social diseases, can this be attributed to
the family's less involvement and commitment resulting in a poor foundation or other
factors like peers, neighbors and media.

B. Main Variables of the Study and Their Operational Definition

1. Age - The term refers to the adolescent's chronological age.

2. Attitude towards sexuality - The term refers to the way one looks at things
mentally. This is distinguished from facts, values and opinions.

3. Family Climate- The terms refer to both family atmosphere and family structure.

4. Media Exposure- This term refers to the number of times the media, both printed
and electronic is used in a week by the adolescents.

5. Ordinal Position- The term refers to the rank of the respondent among the
children in the family

6. Parenting styles- This refers to the four parenting styles namely authoritative,
autocratic, permissive and uninvolved.

7. Peer influence - This refer to the degree of influence of the adolescent's peer
group.

8. Sexuality - refer to the total masculinity and femininity of the individual.

9. Type of community- This refers to the kind of community the respondents were
reared.
C. Schematic Presentation of the Theoretical and Conceptual Framework

The possible factors that affect or influence the adolescent’s attitude towards
sexuality of individuals are sex, age, Ordinal position, type of school, family climate,
parenting styles, and peer influence and media exposure.

The descriptive research method was used in this study. Descriptive research
method is designed to gather information about present existing conditions. The principal
aims in employing this method are to describe the nature of the situation as it exist at the
time of the study and to explore the cause’s particular phenomena. Descriptive research
involves collection of data in order to test or to answer questions concerning the current
status of the subjects of the study.

F. Sampling Technique

The respondents were randomly selected from the students of Aurollo High School-
Taft, UE High School, Far Eastern University, Technological University of the
Philippines - Manila, University of Visayas, St Theresa's College- Cebu, University of
Mindanao and Holy Cross College. It involved one thousand one hounded eight
adolescents (1108) ages 13 to 19 from public and private schools.

G. Statistical Analysis used

They used two to have Statistical Analysis. Frequency and Percentage, this was used in
this study to determine the profile of adolescents in terms of birth order, sex, age, type of
School attended, type of community they were reared, Parents education attainment,
family climate, parenting styles, peer influence, media exposure. Multiple Correlation,
this statistical treatment was used to determine which variables among the adolescents-
related factors influence the adolescent’s attitude towards sexuality.

A. Statement of the Problem

This study aimed to analyze the marketing of library services of the Saint Louis
University, specifically on the provision of current awareness services by the University
Library, which will be the basis for a proposed current awareness program for the
University.

The survey appraisal type of descriptive method was used in the gathering of data.
This involved description, recording analysis and interpretation of the data collected. The
consistent of the different elements of research was proven further through logical
consultation of library and online resources.

F. Sampling Technique

The Stratified random sampling was applied for library users. Slovin's formula was
used to get the sample size for each category of library users. Slovin's formula was
applicable to this study because normal approximation of the population and the data
requirements needed for using such formula was particularly dealt with.

To be able to analyze and interpret data gathered from the questionnaire, the frequency
distribution and the weighted mean were basically used.

A. Statement of the Problem

The study explored the concepts of God of urban poor adolescent subject and their
parents. Specifically, it answered the following questions.

1. What are the concepts of God of Urban poor adolescents in Malibay, Pasay.
2. How do urban poor adolescents’ concepts of God differ between males and females?
3. What are their parents Concepts of God?
4. What are adolescents’ other sources of concepts of God?

B. Main Variables of the Study and their Operational Definition

1. Concept- Early definitions of concept pertain to this as mental images, ideas or


processes normally disclosed through introspection.

2. God- He is the supreme and ultimate principle of being unit, goodness and
intelligibility of the world we encounter in experience.

3. Adolescents - refer to individuals belonging to the chronological period


beginning with the physical and emotional process.

4. Parents- This operationally refers to all participating fathers and mothers of the
adolescent’s respondents chosen for this study

5. Urban Poor- That portion of that urban population characterized of inadequacy


of income, chronic unemployment of its members belonging to the work force.

6. Religious beliefs- This refer to the body of tenets of one's religion which one
concepts are true.

7. Prayer - A faith response to God in a form of an intimate conversation with Him.

Various factors related to socio-cultural background, developmental stage, and social


relationships of adolescent’s influence their religious beliefs. Among those that may
affect their beliefs about God include relationships within the family, particularly those
parents, peers, religious culture of their community, religious education, gender and age.

E. Research Method Used

This study used descriptive exploratory method which made them personal interviews.
It primarily assessed the concept of God of urban poor adolescents and their parents both
mother and father and how these differed between adolescent gender and aged group and
across parent adolescent children gender dyads.

F. Sampling Technique and the Sample Size

The methods of pagtatanong-tanong and pakikipagkwentuhan were applied in data


gathering. The researcher lived with the family of an MCDF (Maryville Community
Development Foundation) leader in the area of study during the entire data gathering
period. One on one interviews by the researcher were held in the respondent's home for
four days a week for a period of two months and three weeks. A total of one hounded
sixty-four respondents comprising of eighty Roman Catholic adolescents and forty-two
sets of parents who have resided in Malibay Pasay for at least two years were randomly
selected for this study.

G. Statistical Analysis used

Both qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis were employed in this study.

A. Statement of the Problem

This study aimed to assess the employability of PUP-BST graduates of the year 2004-
2006, Specifically this study will look into the following problems; What is the profile of
PUP-BST Batch 2004-2006, What are the reasons of the graduates for pursuing this
degree. What are the relevant trainings attended by the graduates which they perceived to
be helpful in finding their job?

1. BST- Bachelor of Science in Tourism, the course taken by the respondents.

2. CRS- Computerized Reservation System, is a Computerized system used to store


and retrieve information and conduct transactions related to travel.

3. CTHRM- College of Tourism Hotel Restaurant and Management.

4. DOT- Department of Tourism, is the executive department of the Philippines


government responsible for the regulation of the Philippine tourism industry and
the promotion of the Philippines as a prime tourist destination.

5. Employed- Respondents that hold a job related to his field of specialization.

6. Travel Agency- a business that arranges transport, accommodation and tours for
travelers and also called travel bureau.

7. Unemployed - Respondents with no occupation, out of work or a jobless


respondent.

The process that the researcher followed in this study is input, process and output. The
inputs are the raw information needed by the researcher that constitute the number of the
graduate’s profile, the employment opportunity for skills, knowledge and trainings
needed to obtain larger possibility to ensure employment in the future. The process is a
survey of a problems encountered in getting jobs. Presentation of employment status of
Batch 2004-2006. The output identified the list of graduates. The skills needed in getting
jobs related to tourism.

The researcher specifies the type of research to be employed to answer the research
questions in the form of a normative survey. The survey gives a close examination of
what respondents think about as issues and also called opinion poll or census.

The researcher made use of a probability sampling through systematic sampling


technique. Systematic sampling is a method of sampling uses fixed intervals to dram the
sample.

G. Statistical Analysis used

Frequency distribution is an arrangement of the data which shows the frequency of


different values or group of values of a variable. To determine the frequency of each item
in the questionnaire, the answer of the respondent is tabulated. Through the frequency of
an item, the researcher had determined the total number of respondents who favored one
particular item over the other.

A. Statement of the Problem

How can work values contribute to Human Development? What are the work
values being practiced by skilled laborers that contribute to human development? To what
extent are these work values practiced by skilled laborers? How can these work values
contribute effectively to their community?

B. Main Variables of the Study and Their Operational Definition

1. Community Development- This is the physical improvement of the community


to meet needs of different sectors such as crime, health and aesthetics.
2. Development- This refers to the process of moving from one state to another. The
researcher limits his process to economic and human development.
3. Human Development- It is the qualitative nature and main focus of the work
values program. Human development is characterized by behavior and attitude
change through values education.
4. Laborers- This refers to the different types of laborers: skilled or semi-skilled ,
self-employed or employed
5. Values- Values are the intrinsic qualities of man that allows him to have a set of
standards in his life.
6. Work- This refers to labor that is performed for the sake of earning a living or
paying a debt.
7. Work Values Education- This refers to the program that aims to help the laborers
gauge work values that currently exist and propose new values that may not exist
based on the research findings.
C. Schematic Presentation of the Theoretical and Conceptual Framework
Based on the review of related literature, the researcher has compiled and
identified five core values and labeled these as standards for the Filipino workforce.
These five are (1) positive self- concept (2) living an integral life (3) economic stability
(4) Social stability (5) advocacy. The study aims to pull together the relationship between
these work values standards ant the concept of human development. It should be noted
that the labor sector brings along certain perception influences to these work values. The
type of job, social class, age and gender do have an impact to the meaning-making of
values.

This research is a qualitative study on the work values of skilled laborers from the
BF Homes Parañaque and Las Piñas area.
F. Sampling Technique and the Sample Size

Two sets of questionnaires were used in the data gathering procedures. Part I
consisted of the five core values derived from the review of related literature. Part II was
derived from the results of the first group discussions, where the core values are
manifested in fifteen support values.

Interviews with the Barangay Captain and the Executive Officer were used to
identify community needs and acquire demographic data. The demographic sheet was
used to gather the demographic data of the respondents.
