The development of interactive mathematics learning media based on schoology and visual basic

through industrial revolution 4.0

Industrial production is nowadays driven by global competition and the need for fast adaptation of
production to the ever-changing market requests (Andreja Rojko, 2017). The development of
technology in the era of industrial digitalization called industrial revolution 4.0. One of the benefits that
teachers can use in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 is to improve learing method with the help of
technology. Learning involves ongoing, active processes of inquiry, engagement and participation in the
world around us (Bransford, Brown, and Cocking, 2000). Technology-based learning media is important
in mathematics learning (Aminuddin F M et al., 2018). In general, information and communication
technology has been suggested as a means to improve educational outcomes (R P Murtikusuma et al.,
2019). We can use media as a medium in the learning process to convey information, education, or
task such as Schoology and visual basic. So, does the media support students to learn higher quality
learning?

The impact of the use of interactive learning media, among others be more interesting learning that
can motivate students to learn, the learning material will be clearer meaning that students easily
achieve learning goals and students more actively in learning activities (Hamonangan, 2013). For the
example, the popular media like films, music, YouTube are a familiar medium to students that helps
gain attention and maintain student interest in the theories and concepts under discussion. Therefore,
teacher must apply the advantages of visual basic applications that can be designed or modified itself
in accordance with the wishes of users. It should designed based on the preference of the student and
easily to master the learning media. At the opening page must have at least a main menu that consist
of home, instructions, syllabus, topic, examples and exercise. The instruction feature contains the
explanation about the main menu. The syllabus feature contains core competencies, basic
competencies and indicators. Topic feature contains the explanation about the things wanted to teach.
The example feature contains about the application of the method in solving the question. The exercise
feature contains description of the student test and solving the exercises. That is why the learning
media should modified in line with students which is simple and interesting to motivate students and
make it easier to understand the questions.

Using media like Schoology can builds up a bridges between teachers with students, students with
students and teachers with parents to share information and make discussion. Moreover, learning
media can give them a better understanding of such resources now will prepare them to be successful
in the future (Renee Williams, 2018). However, there are a number of important considerations for
faculty before teacher integrate media or ask their students to use or develop media in the class. For
the example, the learning media should take note of suitability of subject matter with standard content,
knowledge level and learning aim, the clarity of matter content, exercises processing and text size
guidance and image usage, the suitability of answer keys and discussion, the equality of choice answer,
the standard language and the accuracy of button in the program. All these indicators are important to
let the developed learning media valid with very high category, so the media is suitable for use in the
learning process. It also provides great opportunities for making learning more effective for everyone
with different needs. For example, students can learn at their own speed, review difficult concepts or
skip ahead if they need to. If the learning media consider the effectiveness and practicality of learning
media properly then the students will happy to study the lesson by using it and repeat the desired
section of the lesson.

When technology is integrated into lessons, students are expected to be more interested in the
subjects they are studying (Pano Savvdis, 2019). Learning media can provides different opportunities to
make learning more fun and enjoyable in terms of teaching same things in new ways like Kahoot and
Pawtoon. Then, teacher is a person that encourage student to take part on virtual field trips and using
other online learning resources. As the learning media is very interesting, the more active participation
in the learning process which can be hard to achieve through a traditional lecture environment. This
occurs because the student textbook learning media sources of getting information only from teachers
and materials that exist in textbooks without being able to obtain feedback from the practice questions
done. Learning by using learning media able to let teachers use active learning with the control, while
the students are relatively passive to accept and follow what the teachers. So, teacher can put some
video in the lesson as a group activity or discussion about the content of the video. Besides, teachers
can use trusted online resources to keep students more engaged. With the use of teaching media,
tasks and roles of teachers towards a more positive change. That means loads of teachers to explain
the repeated lessons about the content can be reduced and even eliminated so that teachers can
concentrate on other important aspects in teaching and learning. Thus, learning media manage to
provide a good condition of learning in virtual and make a change in teaching lessons.

The purpose of interactive media is preparing students to improve skills in laboratory practice without
need for assistance and are not bound by time and place. So, it is recommended to teachers in order to
motivate students to learn independently by using interactive learning media, because the students will
get the information they want through interactive learning media and they also do not have to depend
on the presence of teachers in improving learning outcomes. It can be used well in school due to its
portable and can be used anytime and anywhere. As the conclusion the developed learning media is
feasible to help the student in understanding the lessons of higher quality learning in the Industrial
Revolution 4.0.
