overall functionality of the NURSE CALL system ( IP based) as per
the standards and design specifications. Each data cable ( from
RCU and Nurse Call Panels) shall be individually tested to ensure
that it transmits the correct signal or data to the operator
workstation( NCS switches and NCS server).
 All tests & commissioning shall be performed after ensuring
that all installation works are complete according to this method
statement and approved materials, IT data network is ready and
commissioned and all cables/wires for NCS system has been
tested for continuity.
 The following tests shall be performed for each Room Control
Unit (RCU) :
 Test that the RCU is in work operation mode and RCU is connected
to power supply cable and data cables;
 Test/verify that communication between Nurse call console and call
buttons in patient rooms is established;
 Verify that the RCU touch screen is fully operational;
 Verify that the RCU software is installed correctly;
 Verify that the RCU allows to assist all patient call/alert units in a
single patient room;
 Verify that the RCU Card Reader is working properly.

 The following tests shall be performed at each Patient Bed

Head, Patient Hand Set , Over Door Lamp Unit :
 Test that the call button in patient bed head and handset unit is
working properly. Press the call button to make an emergency call
and verify that the call appears in the Nurse Console (Nurse Control
Panels).
