Dear Greta,

We hope this letter finds you well. We want to thank you for your exemplary activism and for
inspiring this important movement around the world.

As your words have motivated us to start and continue this fight beside you, we would
be very pleased to formally invite you to visit our country. We want you to know some
important facts:

1. Mexico has been the latin american country with the most strikes since March 15th,
2019.
2. There is huge support from many government organisms and NGOs that support
your visit. You will see the list in the signatures of this letter.
3. As SEMARNAT (Secretariat of ​Environment and Natural Resources) is one of the
supporters for your visit, you will be given the opportunity to speak at the congress to
several levels of law and decision makers.
4. Thanks to the movement that you inspired, the youth has been meeting many levels of
government in the country to create together solutions to environmental problems in
many locations.
5. There is will for a good part of the government and the people to act on this climate crisis.
6. However, more action is needed. Mostly at the top Federal level. We need more
commitment to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement.

For all these reasons, we think that your visit and your powerful voice could help have a bigger
impact on all of our efforts.

We are ready to accommodate the places and dates of your choice. And here are also some
proposals for the middle of October:

1. Coming to Mexico City by land

2. Coming to the port of Veracruz and going to Mexico City from there
3. Coming to the Merida port, Yucatan
4. Stopping by in Oaxaca, where the FFF team wants to organize a funeral march for the
planet that incorporates the traditions of the day of the death (dia de los muertos). Which
is a beautiful tradition.
Thank you again for all of your amazing work. We look forward to hearing from you soon to work
further on the details and give you some more important information on the particular situation in
Mexico regarding the current and needed climate action.
