Topic: “Resort” Habitat In Hostile Environment

Introduction:

Resort: A place designed to provide recreation, entertainment, and

accommodation especially to people who came for vacation in addition to
accommodation, meals and other basic facilities.

Habitat: A habitat and adaptation where a human naturally lives and grow. Every
human has a unique ecosystem for its habitat. This is where the humans meet. Its
basic need for its survival; food, water, shelter from the weather and place to
breed its younglings.

“ All fine architectural values are human values, else not valuable”. (- Frank LLyod
Wright)

Hostile Environment: The geographical feature and environment conditions on

earth differ from one place to another.

Habitat in Hostile Environment:

 Climate is an important aspect of life particularly in areas with hot and dry
climate such as , where people face variety of problems related to climate
especially in living there.
 The main concern arises to modify extremes of air temperature and to
protect them from extreme solar radiation and glare.
 One of the most important considerations when designing a resort is the
extent to which it provides an environment that is comfortable for its
occupants. Aspects of comfort include; personal factors ,thermal comfort,
indoor air quality, visual comfort and so on.

Goal: To make the structure according to users in hostile environment whereas

the main purpose of design to make objects and environments more comfortable,
functional and convenient.
Aim:

 The aim of the project is to create the space which is focused on the human
comfort and also to not harm the environment. The resort shall be using
the passive architecture techniques and energy efficient methods.
 To understand the planning parameters of various macro and micro
settlements climatically.
 To analyze the architectural design of the individuals as manifestation of
various techniques with respect to climate.

Objective:

 Study of climate responsive materials and techniques, their properties and

co- ordination with respect to the climate.
 To understand the climatic pattern of settlement.

Scope and importance:

 Building in response to climate and reducing the impact of heat in a hostile

environment .
 General techniques involved in reducing heat gain inside the building.
 Prevailing climatic techniques in that existing.
 There is a great need and scope for tourism development.
