Deskripsi Mata Kuliah : Methodology in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) discusses various kinds of teaching English as
a foreign language methodology in Indonesian context and beyond. It describes the definition, concept, and the
basic principle of Approach, Method, Strategy, and Technique in language teaching. Furthermore, it discusses the
definition, concept, and basic principle of English language teaching methodology varying from old and
conventional methods (including Grammar Translation Method (GTM), Direct Method (DM), Audio Lingual Method
(ALM), Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), Task-based Learning (TBL), Silent way, Suggestopedia) to new
and Eclectic Method and its implementation in the classroom.
Capaian Pembelajaran : Students are expected to be able to demonstrate various kinds of English teaching methodology varying from the
old methods to the new ones.
