1. Prepare

1.1 Hardware requirements

Prepare one physical server or pc
CPU: recommed Xeon(R)2G（or above）
Memory: 2G（or above）
Harddisk: 80G（or above）

1.2 Hardware requirements

Prepare installation CD of Linux Redhat 6.4

 2. Installation steps
Ether machine’s BIOS setting, choose to use CD-ROM priority, reboot machine after put CD into
optical drive.
When following interface appears, choose 【Install or upgrade an existing system】 and press
enter

 Choose 【skip】 to skip the media test and start the installation

Click 【Next】

Choose language , here choose 【English】,click 【Next】

Select the appropriate keyboard for the system, here choose【U.S.English】in default, click【next】

Set devices, here choose 【Basic Storage Devices】, click 【Next】

Set hostname that identifies the computer on a network, click 【 Configure Network 】 to set ip
details.

Choose the recognized network interface , click 【Edit】 to set ip details
Pay attention to the following shortsccreen involves some necessary settings
1) Don’t forget to check 【Connect automatically】
2) Method: choose 【Manual】
3) IPv4 settings, Click 【Add】 to set Address,Network mask, Gateway
4) Click 【Apply】 to bring setting into effect
5) Click 【close】 to exit ip setting, click 【Next】 to continue the installation

Select the nearest city in your time zone , click 【Next】
Notes: don’t check 【System clock uses UTC】

Enter passwd for root account , click 【Next】.

System will give prompts if the root passwd is simple, you can choose 【Use Anyway】 to continue

Choose installtion type, check 【Use ALL Space】, click 【Next】.

Writing storage configuration to disk , choose 【Write changes to disk】

Choose 【Minimal】, click 【Customize now】, click 【Next】

Choose 【Base System】 and check 【Base】

Chosoe 【Base】 and right click to choose 【Deselect all optional packages】

Choose 【Optional packages】, to check two modules

【tcpdump-4.0.0-3.20090921gitdf3cb4.2.el6.x86_64】 and 【openssh-clients-5.3pl-84.1.el6.x86_64】,
do not check other modules. Do not click 【Next】

Choose 【Servers】and check 【E-mail server】, click 【Next】

Finally , click 【Reboot】
