CAS-Manager + Loadware
2.1 Installation
A manager tool CASM offers the installation, updating, and controlling on the cards TCAS-2 and TMCAS-2.
In the systems HiPath35x0 there is a restriction to use slots in the system. In the HiPath 3500/3550, only
one TCAS-2 board will be supported. It shall be plugged in the same slot which is used for the existing
TS2 board (slot7 and 9). In the HiPath 3800, up to three TMCAS-2 boards will be supported (6 CAS
links).
For more details such as hardware settings or hardware overview see the netinfo path (SHB HiPath 3000):

Detailed instructions about tool are into the help option as follows:
After plugging the boards in the system you will need to install the CASM tool to administrate it using V.24 serial
interface or an Ethernet interface in the frontal panel of TMCAS-2/TCAS-2. The steps are shown below:
1 If you are installing such tool in your desktop at first time, please go to the step 2
1.1 Double click on setup.exe. A following message appears when you have already an old version installed and a
question will be done to proceed the installation as follow:
4 You must create a new name to the customer database (CDB Name) or clicking on the existing if you want a specific
already created.
4.1 Select the available .hex file version to the CAS Software and click on Open. Here you are selecting the loadware
version
Click for example on 2-Bit signaling (Q421) and MFC/R2 in both (Incoming/Outgoing) Digit types.
Click on Set and the OK.
If you need different settings of this example or explanations about each field, please see the definition on help
options in the chapter Reference information on CAS DATABASE.
5.3 If you need to update the loadware version you must download Software option. Similarly the reboot will be done.
It is possible also to connect the Ethernet interface with CASM tool instead of V.24 interface.
6.1 You must acquire a valid IP address of your desktop/laptop with ipconfig DOC command. For example
129.214.68.125. Connects the network cable. After that you must fulfill the field in the option IP Settings as follow:
2.2.1 How to update U-boot or FPGA (firmware) version in TCAS2 and TMCAS2
Attention: Be careful with this procedure because TCAS-2 and TMCAS-2 modules can be
damaged.
Start a serial communication via Hyperterminal and configure serial speed, parity and flow control as
indicated in Error! Reference source not found..
Restart the board and press CTRL+A (keys “CTRL” and “A” together) to get access to U-boot prompt,
as indicated in Error! Reference source not found. and Error! Reference source not found..
Type “1” to select Boot Firmware Update or “2” to select the FPGA Firmware.
Type “q” to get access to U-boot prompt again (Figures 7-9 and 7-10) .
Now, type “reset” and press ENTER to restart board (figure 7-11).
2.3.1 How to configure the Collect Call Blocking per Extension Number (CR H26284)
The feature was implemented to check the extension numbers that are allowed to
receive collect calls. So the extension numbers that are not inserted into this
list are blocked to receive collect calls.
It is possible to create the list of allowed extension numbers to receive
collect calls just typing the following command in the command line of the
CASManager.
To remove any interval from the list just type the following command:
execute 2 1 11 11 "First number" "Last number"
To list all extension numbers allowed to receive collect calls just type the
command:
execute 2 1 11 12
F- Important notices
1. The customer must used the feature DID (Direct Inward Dial);
2. Only the trunks protocols listed in the item A can used this feature;
3. The feature is available for the loadware version from 025 and the EDB
version from BRA.IAH. Both loadware and EDB must the loaded into the card;
4. The configuration is shared by both links of the card;
5. The configuration is not saved in the CDB of the CAS-Manager because it is
a manual configuration. That is, if a new database is loaded to the card,
the configuration of the extension number allowed to receive collect calls
must the done again.
3.1 Restrictions
The HW-ID of TCAS2/TMCAS2 remains unchanged (equal to TS2 and DIUN2), since any oficial system
software version was released.
The TCAS-2 hardware shall be updated. The FALC56 V2.1 must be replaced by the FALC56 V2.2 and the
modifications described in the Resolution Text of G84811 shall be implemented.
The TMCAS-2 needs at least the FPGA version 007. To see it you must read by command line “help” in
CASM tool.
The TCAS-2 needs at least the FPGA version 005. To see it you must read by command line “help” in CASM
tool.
The TMCAS-2 edition S30810-Q2946-X-4 or later must be used in conjunction with the FPGA’s firmware
version “fpga_TMCAS2_009” or newer because this version of the firmware has corrections to enable the TMCAS-2 to
be used in the Hipath 3800 with expansion box.
The TCAS-2 edition S30810-Q2945-X-9 or newer must be used only in conjunction with the FPGA’s
firmware version “fpga_TCAS2_008”, because older FPGA’s firmware don’t program the component FALC56 V2.2
properly. Older TCAS-2 editions than S30810-Q2945-X-9, that use FALC56 V1.2, can be used with
“fpga_TCAS2_007” or “fpga_TCAS2_008”. The FPGA’s firmware is responsible to indentify the version of FALC56
(V1.2 or V2.2), enables the TCAS-2 to work with HXGS-3 in the same shelf and to send the correct ID of the TCAS-2
to the system software of Hipath 35x0.
The TCAS-2 edition S30810-Q2945-X-L1 or newer must be used only in conjunction with the FPGA’s firmware
version “fpga_TCAS2_011” or newer.
The CCB (Collect call blocking) functionality blocks only the trunk interface against collect call. For collect
call blocking on extension it is necessary to set the normal protocol Q.421-2bits and the carrier must transmit the
category II-8 on MFC-R2 registers.
The information of CRC-4 state is now available when the button “Link state” of the CAS-Manager V1 R0.5.0
or later is pressed.
The Database window of the CAS-Manager V1 R0.5.0 or later has now two fields in order to select the
feature 1:1/1:n separated for each link CAS. It is recommended to use the configuration “1:1” instead of “1:N”
in order to avoid collisions of calls.
With CAS-Manager V1 R0.10.0 or later, the TCAS-2 and TMCAS-2 modules can be updated to U-boot
version 059 (uboot_TMCAS2_059 or uboot_TCAS2_059) to improve microprocessor speed and consequently, system
performance. This procedure can be done only for modules with U-boot version less
than 059. Additionally the proper FPGA firmware is also available for card updates on customer sites. Both
U-Boot and FPGA firmware can be found in the directory “FW” under the base installation directory of CASManager.
