Before the 1960s, the
relation between ecology
and the economy was not
clear. Ecologists were not
popular because they did
not propose any practical
solutions. Before the
1960s, just 7% of the
world’s university students
studied Ecology.
In the 1970s, a group of
experts proposed the
concept of a green
