CHAPTER 4 PRODUCTION AND TECHNICAL STUDY

Introduction

4.1. Product/Service

 Present here a detailed description of your intended product/service. Its dimension,

composition (mechanical, chemical, physical properties), quality specifications, etc. For
service, the specific service you wanted to do.
 Present some drawings, pictures or photocopies of your intended product.
 State modifications, differences, or improvements of your intended product/s over similar
or related products from your competitors.

4.2. Raw Materials

List down all the raw materials that you will use in your product.

Note: Include picture of each raw material. 2 raw materials per page

4.3. Supplier of Raw Materials

 At least 3 suppliers per Raw Material

 Online suppliers won’t do.

4.4. Production Process

 State here the most suitable and practical type of operation process in the manufacture of
your intended product.
Types of Manufacturing Processes
 Intermittent Manufacturing
The type of production where one produces a product for only a limited period of
time and those that are produced on a cyclical, non-standard made to order
products.
 Continuous Manufacturing
This is the type of production where a product is produced for a specified long
period of time. (Mass Production/Volume Outputs)
 Process/ Step-by-step procedure in creating the product.
 Present your operations: Flow Diagram showing the details of each section or activity of
your production including:
 Lead Time
 Processing Time
 Production Flow

Flow Process Chart Description

Prepare all ingredients The first step of the procedure includes the
preparation of materials, ingredients, tools and
equipment to be used.

Wash the mongo beans properly to remove the

Washing unnecessary things from it.

Draining
Drain the mongo beans using a strainer.

Drying Dry the mongo beans for 5 minutes.

Toasting Toast the mongo beans until golden brown.

Cool it for 10 minutes.

Cooling

Pulverizing Pulverize the mongo beans using a grinder.

Mix all the ingredients Add sugar, iodized salt and palm oil with proper
measurement.

Quality Control Checking the quality of the spread if the expected

outcome is achieved.

All output that passed the quality control will proceed to the

4.5. Daily Production Quantity

 The quantity to be produced per day must be identified. The proponents compute the daily
production by dividing the volume of production (2019) by 12 months and by the number
of working days in a month.
Percentage Daily Production of Yearly
Production of

Product 100% 500 156,000

TOTAL 100% 500 bottles a day 156,000 bottles a

year

4.6. Project Site

 Present a picture of your proposed project site. Describe your location in detail.
 Present a list of fundamental data and requirements for your projects site
determination.
 Draw map of your location.
 State also the possible obstacles that you may encounter in your choice of project
location.
 State also the cost of rental or acquisition.
 State also the breakdown of renovation, if any.

4.7. Floor Plan Layout

 This section presents the general description of the plant layout and the layout chart.
Designing the plant layout is so important because it can increase the productivity of your
plant. This will include:
 Functional flow
 Operation flow
 Manpower flow
 Materials flow
 Production flow

4.8. Machineries and Equipment

 List down and show pictures of all machineries that will be used in the project proposal.
A. Production Equipment

4.10. Raw Materials Requirements

 Present a detailed breakdown of your project’s raw materials requirements.

 State alternatives or substitutes raw materials you may use during lean, peak, or
emergency months in case of sudden or temporary unavailability of any or all of your
raw materials.

4.11. Manpower Requirements

 Present your direct personnel requirements.

4.12. Waste and Waste Disposal Method

 Describe your waste produces by the project in detail and their effects to your operations.
If possible, include their quantity.
 State your means of disposal system, waste treatment machineries, waste disposal site,
treatment equipment, etc.

Example:

Generally, wastes in production and office will be disposed properly. Providing that there

will be separated trash can for biodegradable and non-biodegradable in order to prevent

unpleasant surroundings.
All disposed garbage will be collected according to the schedule of the San Fernando,

Pampanga garbage collector truck. But there are other disposal method for certain waste such

as:

a. Process Waste

1. Over toasted mongo- these can be sold out to the farmers.

2. Powdered mongo dust- suppliers who deal into chicken and duck feeding.

3. Moist Salt- can be used for cleaning and deodorizing.

4. Reject finished product- can be sold to stones.

b. Packaging

1. Rejected bottles- these can be used as pen holder and etc.

2. Oil bottle- can be used as water sprinkler for gardening purpose.

3. Sticker paper- Can be used to design or decorate.

4. Rejected boxes- it can be reassemble to make a box.

c. Solid Waste

1. Sacks of the raw materials- these can be recycled by doing eco bags.

2. Plastic Gloves- these can be sold to co-friendly suppliers who deal into processed

recycled products like plastic chair.

d. Other Waste

1. Excess Oil- can be used as oil recycling for sustainable biodiesel production.
