The Alliance of Concemed
Teadrers (ACI) noted th3t the
House has approved at the
cornmittee level the ProPosed
P4.l-trilliqn budget for next
year amid concerns over the
;'measly'i P3lrbillion allocation
for the salary increase of 1.5
million govemment workers.

The ACT, which belongs
to the broailer Al1 Govern-
ment Employees UnitY alliance,
called on senators to consider
thewelfarc of low-salaried civil
ser .i.ants in its deiiberations on
salary increase proposals.

The alliance pushed for
a substantial increase in the
budget for the salary hike of
civilian govemment workers,
reiterating their call for ar in-
crease in the entry-level salarY
of teachers and nurses ftom li:ss
than P20000 per rnonth to at
ieast P30,000.
During the Senate hearing
on Monday, the Teadrers' Dig-
r{iy Coalition also expressed
support for the passage of
pending bills that will Provide
at least P10,000 per month
acDsethe-board salary insease
for public school teachers.

the-board increase, which is
lower than what the govem-
