1. MINISTRY OF MINORITY AFFAIRS

"Secularism, social­communal harmony and tolerance" is in the DNA of India.

1. Hunar Haats ­ To provide an opportunity, as well as domestic and international exposure to the master
artisans from across the country.
2. Naya Savera – Free coaching and Allied Scheme - to enhance skills and knowledge of students and
candidates for employment through competitive examination and admission in technical and
professional courses.
3. Nai – Roshni - The scheme is for Leadership Development of Minority Women.
4. Padho Pardes – Scheme for interest subsidy on educational loans for overseas studies in technical and
professional courses.
5. Nai Udaan - Support for students clearing Preliminary Examination conducted by UPSC, SSC, State
Public Service Commissions, etc.
6. Seekho Aur Kamao – Skill development initiative for minorities.
7. Nai Manzil – Scheme for formal school education & skilling of school dropouts.
8. USTTAD - Upgrading the Skills and Training in Traditional Arts/Crafts for Development.
9. Hamari Dharohar - Scheme to preserve rich heritage of minority Communities under the overall concept
of Indian Culture.
10. Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karykram (PMJVK), [restructured Multi-sectoral Development Programme
(MsDP)], the Minority Affairs Ministry will construct schools, colleges, ITIs, skill development centres,
multi-purpose community centres “Sadbhav Mandap”, “Hunar Hub”, hospitals, business centres etc. on
waqf properties across the country. (esp. in those “backward and ignored” areas which had been
deprived of these facilities since the Independence)
11. Garib Nawaz Skill Development Centre Scheme
12. Jiyo Parsi – Scheme for containing population decline of Parsis
13. Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship - to girls students for classes 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th –
implemented by Maulana Azad Education Foundation (MAEF)
14. Pilot project for minority Cyber Gram for digital literacy in Alwar district of Rajasthan.
15. First world class educational institute being established in Alwar district of Rajasthan.
16. Ministry launched the country's first "National Scholarship Portal Mobile App" (NSP Mobile App). The
portal will ensure a smooth, accessible and hassle-free scholarship system for students from poor and
weaker sections.
17. Haj initiatives - Saudi Arabia has given green signal for India’s decision to revive the option of sending
Haj pilgrims through sea route. Haj 2018 has been made 100 per cent digital/online. For the first time
about 1300 Muslim women from India went to Haj without “Mehram” (male companion).

2. MINISTRY OF CULTURE

1. Mumbai's Victorian Gothic and Art Deco Building declared as World Heritage by UNESCO - makes
Mumbai city the second city in India after Ahmedabad to be inscribed on the World Heritage List. India
now has overall 37 World Heritage Inscriptions with 29 Cultural, 07 Natural and 01 Mixed sites. While
India stands 2nd largest in number after China in terms of number of World Heritage properties in ASPAC
(Asia and Pacific) region, it is overall 6th in the world.
2. India hosts its first ever Theatre Olympics­2018 – this was 8th edition, celebrated at Red Fort, New Delhi
and Gateway of India, Mumbai.
3. Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsavs under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat matrix celebrated.
4. ASI excavations at the Sadiqpur Sanauli village of Bhagpat, Uttar Pradesh - discovery puts Indian
Civilization on par with other ancient civilizations like Mesopotamia and Greece, where Chariots were
extensively used
5. “Seva Bhoj Yojna” - To reimburse the Central Government share of Central Goods and Services Tax
(CGST) and Integrated Goods and Service Tax (IGST) so as to lessen the financial burden of such Religious
/ Charitable Institutions who provide Food/Prasad/Langar (Community Kitchen)/Bhandara free of cost
without any discrimination to Public/Devotees.
6. ‘Dharohar Bhawan’ - the new Headquarters building of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). ASI
lifted the ban on photography to allow photography within the premises of all centrally protected
monuments/sites.
7. “Museum on Prime Ministers of India” is to be set up in Delhi.
8. 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi launched
9. 75th Anniversary of Formation of Azad Hind Government
10. 550th Birth Anniversary Celebration of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji.

3. MINISTRY OF C ONSUMER AFFAIRS, FOOD & PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION

1. National Food Security Act, 2013 (NFSA)


­ Universal implementation of the NFSA, 2013 in all 36 States & UTs.
­ Prices of foodgrains specified under NFSA – Rs.3 per kg for rice, Rs.2 per kg for wheat and Re.1 per
kg for coarse grains extended upto June, 2019.
­ Central assistance to meet the expenditure incurred on intra-State movement for the first time
2. End­to­end Computerization of TPDS Operations - Digitization of ration cards, Online allocation of food
grains, Transparency portals, Grievance redressal facilities – all states and UTs, Computerization of
Supply Chain Management – only 25 states and UTs.
3. Annavitran Portal - ePoS transactions portal ­ for distribution of subsidized foodgrains to beneficiaries
4. ‘Integrated Management of PDS’ (IM­PDS) ­ Central Sector Scheme - for establishing Public Distribution
System Network (PDSN) to implement national level portability, central data repository and central
monitoring system of PDS operations.
5. Electronic Negotiable Warehousing Receipt (eNWR) System Portal has been launched.
6. Amendment made in the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011 - no person shall
declare different MRPs (dual MRP) on an identical pre-packaged commodity, Size of letters and numerals
for making declaration is increased

7. Price Stabilization Fund (PSF) ­ Buffer stock of upto 20.50 lakh tonnes of pules built through domestic
procurement and import for effective market intervention to stabilize their prices, Procurement and
import of Onions undertaken through NAFED, SFAC and MMTC for stabilising prices of onions.
8. Consumer Protection Bill 2018 has been introduced in the Parliament
9. Bureau of Indian Standards Act 2016, which established BIS as the National Standards Body of India,
was brought into force.

4. MINISTRY OF PARLIAMENTARY A FFAIRS

‘Naya Bharat – Karke Rahenge’ or ‘New India – We Resolve to Make’

1. National e­Vidhan Application (NeVA)


­ Objective ­ to make functioning of Legislatures across the country paperless.
­ “One Nation One Application”. - Member- centric application, addresses issues of day-to-day
functioning of the House.
­ NeVA is a work-flow based App deployed in Cloud (Meghraj) for managing the functioning of the
House including preparation of List of Business, Q&A, Reports and other related documents.
2. Goodwill Delegations - to other countries under the exchange programme
3. All India Whips Conference - to establish suitable links among the Whips of various political parties at
the centre and the states, to discuss matters of common interest
4. Youth Parliament Competitions – 4 competitions – for Delhi Schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar
Navodaya Vidyalayas, Universities / Colleges.

1. Mandatory 10% Gross Budgetary Support (GBS)


2. Proposed North East Industrial Corridor - from Dawki (on Indo-Bangladesh Border) Shillong via
Guwahati to Nagoan and from Golaghat via Dimapur via Imphal to Moreh (on Indo-Myanmar Border)
3. NITI Forum for North East –
­ Under chairmanship of Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog and co-chairmanship of Minister of State (IC),
DoNER.
­ The members include CEO, NITI Aayog, Chief Secretaries of North Eastern States, Secretaries of key
Ministries/ Departments, and academicians.
­ Terms of Reference (ToR) - identify constraints in development and recommend suitable solutions.
4. North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS) - outlay of Rs. 1600 crore
5. North Eastern Council (NEC) ­- Schemes of NEC revamped with new projects under 100% central funding
instead of the earlier block grant on 90:10 basis.
6. Infrastructure Developments –
­ Bogibeel Rail cum Road Bridge, the longest rail­cum­road bridge on Brahmaputra river
­ Greenfield Airport at Pakyong (Gangtok), first Airport in Sikkim.
­ Ro-Ro service between Neamati-Kamlabari( Majuli Island )
7. Livelihood projects
­ World Bank aided North East Rural Livelihood Project (NERLP)
­ International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) funded North Eastern Region Community
Resource Management Project (NERCORMP).
­ Doubling farmer’s income through proper value chain management across all rural economic
activities.
8. Science and Technology Interventions in North East (STINER) - to bring relevant technologies from S&T
institutions to the farmers/artisans of NER. STINER is at CSIR, Jorhat.
9. NE Venture Capital Fund - - total corpus of Rs. 100 crores to empower entrepreneurs and encourage
start-ups in NER.
10. Bamboo - NER as it hosts above 60% of the growing stock of Bamboo in the country. Celebration of
Annual World Bamboo Day on 18th September
11. North Eastern Handicrafts & Handlooms Development Corporation Ltd. (NEHHDC):
12. North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Ltd. (NERAMAC):

6. MINISTRY OF MICRO, SMALL & MEDIUM ENTERPRISES

1. Compulsorily procurement, by all PSUs, of 25% from MSMEs (instead of 20%) of their total purchases.
Out of the 25%, 3% reserved for women entrepreneurs. All CPSUs to compulsorily procure through GeM
portal.
2. The Prime Minister said that there are 5 key aspects for facilitating the MSME sector: access to credit,
access to market, technology upgradation, ease of doing business, sense of security for employees.
3. Interest subvention of 2% for all GST registered MSMEs on fresh or incremental loans.
4. Establishments to be visited by an Inspector will be decided through a computerised random allotment.
5. Scheme for Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) & National SC/ST Hub.

6. ASPIRE (A Scheme for Promotion of Innovation, Rural Industry and Entrepreneurship) - aim to set up
100 livelihood business incubators and 20 technology business incubators
7. Contribution of 8.33% of Employee Provident Fund (EPF) for new employees by the Government for
three years. (12% to EPF - textile, leather and footwear)
8. Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme – credit-linked subsidy programme - to create
estimated employment opportunities for 15 lakh persons in three financial years, total outlay of Rs.5,500
crore. Generating self-employment opportunities through establishment of micro-enterprises in the
non-farm sector by helping traditional artisans and unemployed youth in rural as well as urban areas.
Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) is the nodal implementation agency.
9. MOU with Ministry of AYUSH - to position India as a world leader in “Holistic Healthcare”.
10. Udyam Sakhi portal - for nurturing entrepreneurship and creating business models - learning tools,
incubation facility ,training programs for fund raising, providing mentors, one-on-one investor meet,
provide market survey facility and technical assistance.
11. ‘Sweet Revolution’ - to increase the production of honey, KVIC has launched the honey mission.
12. ‘Sampark’ portal - bridge between the talent pool and enterprises seeking trained man power.

7. MINISTRY OF E LECTRONICS & IT

“Ease of Living of the citizens is at the core of Digital India”

1. Through Aadhaar, the Government has provided digital identity to 122.9 crore residents of the country
with 99% coverage of adult population as on 30th November, 2018.
2. In November, 2018, transactions of value ₹ 7,981 crore were made using BHIM app.
3. ₹ 5.49 lakh crore have been disbursed through DBT to beneficiaries of 433 govt. schemes which have
led to saving of over ₹ 90,000 crore in the last 4 years
4. Jeevan Pramaan has improved the ease of verification of pensioners using Aadhaar digital identity. So
far 1.73 crore Digital Life Certificates have been processed
5. National Scholarship Portal - ₹ 5276 Cr. has been disbursed to 1.8 Cr. students.
6. Soil Health Card - 9.5 crore cards made
7. eNAM ­ 585 markets that are linked to the eNAM network from 16 States and 2 UT's
8. e­Taal (Electronic Transaction Aggregation & Analysis Layer) ­ a platform for dissemination of e­
Transaction statistics of National and State level e-Governance Projects including Mission Mode
Projects. It automatically pulls the e-Transaction data from applications integrated with it using Web
Service technology and facilitates quick analysis of transaction data for the user.
9. E­District Mission Mode Project (MMP) ­ end-to-end workflow to ensure delivery of e-Services by
undertaking Business Process Re-engineering (BPR).
10. Digitize India Platform (DIP) - digitization services for scanned document images
11. Rapid Assessment System (RAS) ­ A continuous feedback system on e-services delivered by Government
of India and State Governments
12. Open Government Data (OGD) Platform India (https://data.gov.in) has been set-up by the National
Informatics Centre (NIC).

8. MINISTRY OF SHIPPING

1. Ports in India handle 90% by volume and 70% by value of India’s external trade. Average Turnaround
time – 60.48 hrs, Present Port Capacity – 1451 MTPA
2. Major Ports Authorities Bill to replace existing Major Port Trusts Act 1963 to provide greater autonomy
and modernization of institutional structure
3. A centralized web­based Port Community System (PCS) has been operationalized across all Major Ports
which enables seamless data flow between the various stakeholders
4. Inauguration of the Multi Modal Terminal on River Ganga at Varanasi
5. Project Unnati - global benchmarks were adopted to improve the efficiency and productivity Key
Performing Indicators (KPIs) for 12 major ports.
6. Centre of Excellence in Maritime & Shipbuilding (CEMS) has been setup at Vizag and Mumbai
7. National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways and Coasts (NTCPWC), at IIT Madras in Chennai to
provide innovative and research based engineering solutions
8. India has been re­elected to the Council of the International Maritime Organization [IMO] under
Category “B” representing the States with the largest interest in international seaborne trade, for the
biennium 2018-19.
9. The Admiralty (Jurisdiction and Settlement of Maritime Claims) Act, 2017 - High Courts of all the coastal
states shall exercise admiralty jurisdiction over maritime claims.

9. MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS

1. Smart Coach - Induction of technology for safety improvements. Smart Coach with diagnostic system
monitor bearing vibrations provides advance information on health of bearing wheel & track.
2. Complete switchover to LHB - Indian Railways have decided to completely switch over to manufacture
of LHB design main line coaches from 2018-19 onwards.
3. On­line Monitoring of Rolling Stock (OMRS) ­ OMRS is the first step towards predictive maintenance for
its Rolling StockOMRS monitors the health of each rolling stock and identifies the defective bearings and
wheels. Real time alarm is generated to take corrective action before the line failure of the rolling stock.
4. Elimination of Unmanned Level Crossings on broad gauge
5. Bridge Management System – A Web-enabled IT Application that will be a single IT-based repository for
all aspects related to bridges on Indian Railways viz. Master Data, condition, inspections, design
drawings, etc.
6. Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFCs)
­ Work on both Eastern & Western Dedicated Freight Corridors progressed on full speed during the
year culminating in successful trial of freight train over Phulera- Atari section of Western Dedicated
Freight Corridor & Khurja- Bhadan section of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC)
­ The Dedicated Freight Corridor will be fully commissioned in phases by March 2020.
7. NE Connectivity ­ Meghalaya connected with railways, Tripura and Manipur with broad gauge lines

10. Train ­ 18 - indigenously manufactured of Semi High Speed (160 Kmph), Self-Propelled Train-set.
11. ‘Mission Raftar ‘ ­ The mission envisages a target of doubling of average speed of freight trains and
increasing the average speed of all non-suburban passenger trains by 25 kmph in the next 5 years.
12. Humsafar Trains - comfortable Air-Conditioned III Tier travel
13. Antodaya trains - Long distance fully unreserved train
14. Deen Dayalu Coaches - For passengers who cannot afford to spend much and generally travel by general
coaches of train. These coaches provide a better travel experience to unreserved passengers.
15. Tejas Trains - Ultra modern trains with speed potential of 200 kmph
16. Vistadome Coaches - enhanced viewing area including on roof to enable tourists to enjoy panoramic
view while travelling.
17. Project Swarn was started to upgrade the condition of Rajdhani and Shatabdi Express Trains
18. Project Utkrisht has been launched to improve condition of 66 important Mail/ Express trains
19. ‘Sarathi Sewa’ for provision of Battery Operated Vehicles (BOVs) at stations
20. ‘Project Saksham’ - massive training programme, competence building of all Indian Railway
employees by giving 5 days on the job training.
21. ‘SAMANVAY’ Portal for co-ordination with State Governments
22. “Rail Good Work Portal” - to generate numerous innovative yet practical ideas across the most critical
areas of Railways Operations.
23. ‘Yatri Mitra Sewa’ at major stations for booking of wheel chair service cum porter services etc.
24. UTSONMOBILE App for unreserved ticket booking through mobile phone, and IRCTC RAIL CONNECT
App for reserved ticket booking.
25. Establishment of Yatri Ticket Suvidha Kendras (YTSK) on public private partnership basis for issuing of
tickets.
26. VIKALP Scheme ­ Alternate Train Accommodation Scheme to provide confirmed accommodation to
waitlisted passengers.
27. Boosting Digital Transactions for Online Ticket Reservations
28. Launch of the Next Generation E­ticketing System (NGeT) for improving accessibility and enhancing the
overall experience of e-ticketing.
29. Transforming Indian Railways into “Green Railways” - to electrify Broad Gauge routes by 2021-22.

1. Scheduled Tribes comprise about 8.6% of India's population (2011 census)

3. Van Dhan Vikas Kendra – multi-purpose establishments, set up under Van Dhan yojana for providing
skill upgradation, capacity building training and setting up of primary processing and value addition
facility.
4. Eklavya Model Residential School - by the year 2022, every block with more than 50% ST population
and at least 20,000 tribal persons, will have an Eklavya Model Residential School. These will be on par
with Navodaya Vidyalayas and will have special facilities for preserving local art and culture besides
providing training in sports and skill development. To set up an Autonomous Society under the Ministry
of Tribal Affairs similar to Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti to run these schools.

11. MINISTRY OF HOUSING & URBAN AFFAIRS

“Urban Renaissance: Rejuvenating & Transforming Indian Cities”

1. “Ease of Living” Index is an initiative of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) to help
cities assess their liveability vis-à-vis global and national benchmarks to move towards an ‘outcome­
based’ approach to urban planning and management. Index is based on critical pillars of urban

technological requirements of the society, and takes into account the international trends and road
maps of leading countries for the next generation technologies.
2. The Global Cooling Prize - an innovation challenge that aims to spur development of a residential cooling
solution that has at least five times (5x) less climate impact than today's standard products.
3. WAYU (Wind Augmentation and purify Ying Unit) - To combat vehicular pollution. It helps in reducing
ambient air pollution levels ejected by vehicles at places, which have high concentration of pollutants.
WAYU can reduce PM10, PM2.5, CO, VOCs, HC emitted in the atmosphere. Installed at ITO intersection
and Mukarba Chowk in New Delhi.
4. The Make Tomorrow for Innovation Generation, a PPP Initiative between Department of Science &
Technology, Intel Technologies and Indo -US S&T Forum to encourage the school children of the age
group of 14-17 to make innovative prototypes using the kits given to them.
5. India­Israel Industrial R&D and Technological Innovation Fund (I4 Fund) - This fund will extend support
to joint R&D projects aimed to co-develop innovative technology-driven products, services or processes

­ Teacher Associate ship for Research Excellence (TARE): The Scheme aims to tap the latent

Insured Persons and their family members, employers and employees of ESIC to understand the various

as 98,92,350 active job seekers and 9,822 active employers are on the portal as on 30.11.2018. NCS

 National Rural Economic Transformation Project (NRETP)


- Aim - To help women and youth in rural households shift to a new generation of economic initiatives by
developing viable enterprise for farm and non-farm products.
- The project is an additional financing to the $500 million National Rural Livelihoods Project (NRLP) approved
by the World Bank in July 2011.
- Loan assistance: from World Bank. (Recently India has signed a $250 million loan agreement with the World
Bank)
- NRETP includes developing financial products using digital financial services to help small producer
collectives scale-up and engage with the market
- It will also support youth skills development, in coordination with the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen

2. MAHATMA GANDHI NATIONAL RURAL EMPLOYMENT GUARANTEE ACT (MGNREGA)

 It is an employment scheme to enhance livelihood security in rural areas by providing at least 100 days
of guaranteed demand based wage employment in a financial year.
 Target Beneficiaries - Every rural household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual
work. At least one-third beneficiaries shall be women.
 Allocation of expenditure - A 60:40 wage and material ratio has to be maintained. No contractors and
machinery is allowed.
 The central government bears the 100% wage cost of unskilled manual labour and 75% of the material
cost including the wages of skilled and semi-skilled workers.
 Wage indexation - Wages are linked to Consumer Price Index (Agriculture labour).
 Unemployment allowance - If work is not provided within 15 days of applying, applicants are entitled
to an unemployment allowance.
 Implementation - MGNREGA is to be implemented mainly by gram panchayats.
 Compulsory Social audit - to be done by the gram sabha atleast once in every 6 months.
 Focuses on creation of durable assets as per local needs.

 It is an accountability & convergence framework for Rural Transformation (Lives & Livelihoods) on
measurable outcomes.
 Objective - To bring one crore households out of poverty to make 50,000 Gram Panchayats poverty free.
 Focus - On most backward districts  1 cr Household in 5000 Rural Clusters  50, 000 Gram Panchayats
 Strategy - Aims at convergence of schemes of various ministries to ensure simultaneous intervention
to tackle multi dimensionality of poverty  State led Initiative
 Integrated Monitoring Dashboard – To measure outcomes against defined indicators.
 Mission Antyodaya online Application allows convergence of data from Gram Panchayat Level and
generates various types of reports
 Ranking
- Ranking of 50,000 Gram Panchayats in partnership with State Governments
- Parameters- physical infrastructure, human development & economic activities.

4. SHYAMA PRASAD MUKHERJEE NATIONAL RURBAN MISSION (NRU M)


 Launched in 2015
 Objective - to stimulate local economic development, enhance basic services, and create well planned
Rurban clusters  SMART VILLAGES
 Smart village - an area which possesses the economic characteristics and lifestyles of an urban area
while retaining its essential rural features.
 'Rurban cluster‘ – It would be a cluster of geographically contiguous villages with a population of
- 25000 to 50000 in plain and coastal areas
- 5000 to 15000 in desert, hilly or tribal areas
 Target - Mission aims at development of 300 Rurban clusters, in the next five years (by 2019-2020)
 2 categories of clusters under NRuM: Non-Tribal and Tribal
 Strategy - These clusters would be developed by provisioning of economic activities, developing skills &
local entrepreneurship and providing infrastructure amenities
 Funding
- Resources to be mobilized through convergence of various schemes of the Government
- Additional support of up to 30% of project cost per cluster as critical gap funding
- PPP as preferred mode of delivery.

5. SANSAD ADARSH GRAM YOJANA (SAANJHI)


 Launched in 2014
 Objective:
- To ensure integrated development of the selected village across multiple areas such as agriculture,
health, education, sanitation, environment, livelihoods etc.
- To instil certain values, such as people’s participation, Antyodaya, gender equality, dignity of
women, social justice, spirit of community service, cleanliness, eco-friendliness etc
 Goal:  “MODEL VILLAGES” (Adarsh Grams)
- To develop 3 Adarsh Grams by March 2019, of which one would be achieved by 2016
- Thereafter, 5 such Adarsh Grams (one per year) will be selected and developed by 2024.
 Gram Panchayat (GP) is the basic unit for development

 Member of Parliament (MPs) as Pivots of SAANJHI


- MPs to pick Gram Panchayat with population of 3000-5000 in plain areas and 1000-3000 in hilly,
tribal and difficult areas
- Lok Sabha MP to choose GP from constituency he/she represents & Rajya Sabha MP to chooses
from state he/she represents.
- MPs cannot pick villages which belong to themselves or their spouses.
- MPs to engage with the community, facilitate Village Development Plan, identify gaps in funding
and mobilizing MPLAD funds to create additional resources specifically from CSR initiatives of
various corporate houses.

6. PRADHAN MANTRI AWAS YOJANA-GRAMIN

 Launched in 2016  replaces Indira Awas Yojana


 It is rural component of Housing for All by 2022  Centrally Sponsored Scheme (60: 40 & 90:10)
 Objective –To provide a pucca house, with basic amenities by 2022, to
- All houseless householders
- Those households living in kutcha and dilapidated houses
 PMAY – G Phase II – In its 2nd phase (starting 2019), the objective is to cover 1.95 crore households by
2022.
 Target beneficiaries – Rural BPL Households
 Beneficiary Identification – on basis of Socio-Economic Caste Census 2011 (verified by Gram Sabha)
 Coverage – In all rural areas across the country except Delhi and Chandigarh
 Financial Assistance - Rs. 120,000 in plain areas and Rs. 130,000 in hilly areas will be provided for
construction of homes & upgradations of existing unserviceable kutcha houses
 Funds to be transferred electronically directly to the account of the beneficiary (DBT)
 E-governance is carried out through
- AwaasSoft (electronic service delivery platform)
- Awaas App (real time monitoring)
 The scheme is expected to boost job creation in rural areas skilling 5 lakh Rural Masons by 2019

7. PM GRAM SADAK YOJANA (PMGSY)

 Launched in 2000, as a centrally sponsored scheme.


 Objective - To provide connectivity by way of all-weather road to eligible unconnected habitations in
rural areas, by 2022
 Funding pattern- 60:40 & 90:10
 Phase I – Launched in 2000, to connect all the following habitations with all weather roads
- 500+ population in plain areas by March, 2019
- 250+ population in Hilly, desert and Tribal Areas by March, 2019
- 100+ population in LWE districts by March 2020
 Phase II – Targets to cover upgradation of existing selected rural roads based on a criterion to make the
road network vibrant.
 Phase III – To upgrade all 250 plus habitations as per 2011 Census.
 Maintenance of rural roads constructed under PMGSY is the responsibility of the State Government.

8. NATIONAL SOCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (NSAP)

 Launched in 1995 as a centrally sponsored scheme.


 A social security and welfare programme for BPL Households.
 100% Central Assistance is extended to the States/UTs to provide the benefits. States are free to add
on and expand their coverage.

Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Eligible age > 60 years (higher assistance for 80 yrs & above)
Scheme (IGNOAPS) Assistance – Rs. 200/month (60-79 yrs), Rs. 500/month (80 yrs &

Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Eligible age > 40 years (higher assistance for > 80 yrs)
Scheme (IGNWPS) Assistance – Rs. 4400/month (40-79 yrs), Rs. 500/month (80 yrs &
above)
Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Eligible age - 18-79 years & disability level 80%
Scheme (IGNDPS) Assistance – Rs. 300/month
National Family Benefit Scheme Rs. 20000/ - to household in event of death (Natural/ Otherwise)
of bread – winner aged between 18-59 yrs.
Annapurna Scheme Eligible age > 65 years. 10 kgs of food grains per month per
(those not covered under Old age Pension) beneficiary

 Neeranchal National Watershed Project


- World Bank assisted National Watershed Management Project
- Objective - to fulfil the watershed component of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMSKY) to
reduce surface runoff of rainwater, increase groundwater levels, and better water availability in
rain-fed areas.
 AARAMBH App
- It is a mobile App for road maintenance in rural areas
- Aims at use of GIS based mapping for making road inventories, condition surveys, producing cost
estimates etc. for preparation and monitoring of annual road maintenance plans.
 DISHA Dashboard
- A data intelligence & monitoring platform
- Objective – to provide all information to the elected representatives to track the performance of
all the major flagship schemes of the different central ministries in their respective constituencies.
 Gram Samvaad Mobile app allows rural citizens to access all information on and implementation of
Rural Development schemes at Gram Panchayat level. This is supplement by call centre/helpdesk for
two way flow of information and feedback between govt. & citizens.
 Krishi Sakhi and Pashu Sakhi –
- Trained Livestock Service Providers (Pashu Sakhi) will be available within the villages for providing
healthcare services to members.
- Trained Agriculture Service Providers (Krishi Sakhi) will be available for providing technical support
to farmers on improved Package of Practices (PoP).
