Course Credit: 3 units (3 hrs lec)
Course Objective:
1. Have a review of Algebra, Trigonometry, Analytic Geometry and Solid Mensuration;
2. Have a working knowledge of the basic concepts of functions and limits;
3. Differentiate algebraic and transcendental functions with ease;
4. Apply the concept of differentiation in solving word problems involving optimization, related rates, and approximation; and
5. Analyze and trace transcendental curves.
*The lecture intends to introduce concepts enumerated and prepare students to solve engineering problems.

Policies Instructor Information


1. Uniform and IDs are required in class. Late students are considered absent.

3. All Long exams and Finals should be in Green Book. Ask PIChE-JCV for details. DChE Office
4. Should have a percentage needed less than 120% to pass the subject. Zeroes and Negatives will +639985534655

5. If you fail to take a long exam, you are allowed to take it after the last long exam but the coverage
is cover to cover, provided that you have a very valid reason. Quizzes have no remedial exam.
6. Cheating is absolutely prohibited. Anyone caught cheating will automatically fail the subject and Engr. Froilan Arlan A. Bartolome
may be subjected to Disciplinary Action. If anyone is caught cheating, the subsequent exam will DChE Office

8. During major exams, going to restroom are prohibited, unless required. When it is inevitable, only
one person is allowed, and all his belongings will be left in the classroom, including ballpens,
papers, calculators, etc. with inspection of pouches, shoes, and other patches.
9. Results are results. No DRP grade will be given unless you incur the maximum allowable
absences. No normalization of results will be done.
