Industry Condition
The Indian Ethnic weaving and hand Embroidery industry plays a
very imperative role in the India’s economy. In case of employment,
it is the second largest sector next only to agriculture. A strong and
diverse raw material base, cheap labor, an ever growing domestic
and International market and relatively better technologies are the
key strengths of the Indian Ethnic Garment sector that have
resulted in such a pronounced prominence of this industry.
Problem
We are manufacturing products, with obsolete designing which in
result are not of giving anything new to End Consumer, weavers
and artisans only create products keeping in mind of his daily
wages which he is supposed to get from aggregators or gaddidar
and don’t think beyond that, they lack designing which is most
important essence of fashion, fashion is constantly evolving
weavers and artisans are not able to match pace with larger
customer base Globally.
On outset Retail form of this business looks very attractive and
glamorous ,wedding shopping make it look very profitable and cash
rich business with huge margins ,but in process the Entrepreneur
forget lot of stock is being accumulated and increasing
digitalization ,cost of marketing is always burden on retailer ,sooner
or later these retailers feel the heat ,looking increased competition

Ethnic Indian apparel, Designers are called upon to bridge the gap
between idea and practice, and to link artistic and creative
elements with practical and realizable outcomes, Ms. Neha Gupta
is making efforts to bring traditional & contemporary designing into
mainstream life. Such efforts include engaging Young and
established designers to work with artisan groups to develop new
product lines for new markets.
