WBL Journal #2

Instructions: Respond to each of the following questions with a complete sentence. You may receive if
a 100 if your answers show effort and quality. Please answer each prompt with at least one complete
paragraph.

Part 1: A big part of being successful now is knowing where you want to be in the future. As you plan for
your future this month list the 5 colleges you would like to attend below and why. If you do not plan on
attending a 4 year institution you can list technical colleges or training you plan on completing.

Five colleges I am looking at are Georgia College and State University, Kennesaw State
University, Belmont University, High Point University, and Furman University. While all of
them have the program I am looking for, I am only planning on applying to the first three. High
Point University and Furman University are extremely expensive, so I am considering them for
possible graduate work rather than undergraduate studies. I love that they are all relatively small
(besides KSU), and the campuses are incredible. All of the schools have shown me that they
want to help me excel and become a functioning member of society in the best ways possible.

Part 2: Of the five colleges listed select one as your top choice. Write a one paragraph summary of what
this college has to offer you. Include information such as campus organizations or activities you are
interested in, your intended major and how this college will help you achieve your professional goals.

Georgia College and State University is my number one pick. As a liberal arts school, not only
do they have the exercise science program I am interested in, they are interested in education in a
holistic way. GCSU also has an incredible dance program. Dance has been a huge part of my life
since I was little, and I want to continue in it throughout my college career. GCSU also has many
great ways to help out in the community and take on leadership roles.

Part 3: How do you believe your time in Work Based Learning will help to better prepare you for your
future college and career plans?

Being in Work Based Learning is teaching me many soft skills as well as giving me real life job
experience to help prepare me for my future. Because I get to intern at a physical therapy clinic, I
get to see what happens in the day-to-day workday of a physical therapist; and I love it! Interning
is showing me that this is what I really want to do in the future. My mentor teaches me new
things about the body and the treatments every time I come in and I love learning about it.
