Pro and Cons about The Death Penalty

Every day, people, especially criminals, are executed and sentenced to death by the state
as a punishment for a variety of crimes. The death penalty is a death punishment as what the
criminals have done. The death penalty is a decision from the judge that has been carefully
thought out and fair. Choosing a criminal to be put in death is a hard decision and has to be
balanced with the constitution or laws. Many people believe that this criminal deserves one fate,
and that fate is death. The death penalty is the maximum punishment used to punished people
who usually have killed another human being, and it’s one of the most controversial methods of
punishment. Death penalty has been used since ancient time to punish a large variety of criminal
because most people think that death is the best deterrent of crime. There are many people that
agree and disagree about the death penalty, is the death penalty worth doing?

On the Pro side, Death Penalty is the best deterrent of crime. The American Civil liberties
Union (ACLU) stated that the death penalty costs more but less risk. They stated that the death
penalty provides justice to survivors of murder victims and allows more resources to be invested
in solving other murders and preventing violence. Sentencing people to die in prison is a sensible
alternative for public safety and murder victims’ family. It is true that the death penalty is
contradict to human rights, but, the suspect will never thought about their victim’s rights before
or after they did a crime. Death penalty can causes fear that can stop the criminal action. If
government just throw those criminal into jail, it will not make them feel any sorry and feel
guilty, and they probably won’t stop doing it until they satisfied. If we talk about killing, there
are all lot of cases that shows us psychology problem of every suspect that do major crime, such
as, they feel happy and satisfied when killing people or mutilating their victims. This action from
the criminal bring a horrible and unacceptable deed. There’s so many survey shows that someone
who already been a ex-prisoner before, have a big chance of doing their crime again. It shows
that jail penalty is not very effective than the death penalty. The process of execution already
been set as a non-painful death, such as lethal injection which the criminal will be given an
anesthesia and then injected with poisonous substance that led the criminal straight to death,
which is not painful. Other than lethal injection, shooting the criminal with gun is one of the
most common death penalty, the criminal will shot right in the heart, so in a few second, the
criminal will die.
On the contra side, death penalty is wrong because it supplies human with a dreadful
power, which only inspires hate in our hearts. No justice or closure, but hate. It makes us desire
the killing, no matter how awful it may be. Taking a human life is unethical, whether it is a crime
or whether it is done in the name of ‘Justice’. Human right has should be protected by law or
constitution, including criminals. Killing is always wrong and there is ‘1001 ways to go to the
Rome’. Life in prison is not a soft option. Death penalty is contradict to human rights and
alsobeliefs, because death penalty is a forbidden thing for every religions and beliefs. There are
no use behind the criminal’s death, it is better to just give them social work penalty where they
can be used as a free resource for works that it’s result can be enjoyed by many people. In that
way, it will bring a much better result for everyone. We are all just the same if we killed those
criminals. If killing someone repayed with killing someone too that makes us the same as them.
Moreover, there is no guarantee that the criminals will never change. In some cases, the criminals
turn into a better person after they finished their jail punishment period. So there’s no fault at all
to give them a second chance too. Many people who agreed to death penalty said, that
imprisonment will cost a lot of money, since the government must finance to the prisoner. but its
the way more humanity than took a life of people. we as a human must have mercy, maybe the
suspect will regret for all sin that has been done.

The conclusions on the contra side is that there will always be a case of innocent people.
Even the country have developed their justice system, it will always remain suspectible to human
failure. Unlike the imprisonment, the death penalty is irreversible and irreparable. Death penalty
always violates the right of life, which happento be the most basic of all human rights. It also
violates the right not to be subjectedto torture and other cruel, inhumane or degrading treatment
or punishment. Furthermore, the death penalty undermines the human dignity, which inherent to
every human being. Death penalty does not deter crime effectively, as recently state by the
General Assembly of the United Nations, “there is no conclusive evidence of the deterrent value
of the death penalty” (UNGA Resolution 65/206). On the Pro side, death penalty would
decreased the crime rate effectively. Because there’s still a chance for the criminals to repeat
their crime because the other punishment like jail didn’t make them feel guilty. The process of
dead penalty is also non painful, so the criminals wouldn’t have to suffer before dead. The reason
is because there’s so many survey shows that someone who already been a ex-prisoner before, have a big
chance of doing their crime again.
