TYPE OF TASK: Dialogue


ROLES: University students
PURPOSE: Asking for and giving personal information
PROMPT: You are in an English class and for a class activity you´ll have to present a dialogue about people`s
personal information. The task requires the following aspects:
1. The task will be in pairs and you will be randomly assigned a classmate the same day the oral task is
programmed.
2. Ask and answer questions about you and a famous person`s information: name, age, phone number, email,
nationality, marital status, etc.
3. Ask and answer questions about the topic.
4. Use the present simple structures to express your ideas and pose questions.
5. Time assigned: 5 minutes each pair.

Communication and content: understand and complete the task
assigned by discussing personal information; communicate and send
messages so the audience is left with no questions.
Fluency: produce a cohesive discourse; use short, mainly pre-
packaged utterances and link them with basic linear connectors; and
use an appropriate organization within the sentences that are
according to the level.
Vocabulary: use vocabulary about personal information; use a
variety of word choice to make the dialogue interesting.
Structure: produce the simple present structure when talking about
discussing personal information, pose and answer information
questions; use other sentence structures.
Pronunciation: pronounce and produce intonation patterns of basic
sounds that allow the audience to understand the message.
Pronounce without interfering with the meaning or communication
purpose of the task.
