BORED PILING WORKS

1.1 SETTING OUT (STAKING OUT OF ALL PILES)

The location of permanent bored piles shall be set out by the General Contractor’s surveyor based on approved setting out drawings
from consultant and control points at site. A survey check shall be conducted to ensure the location of bored piles to be constructed
is within the required tolerances. All survey check will be based on the offset references and control points established on permanent
and stable areas preferably on permanent existing structures. (See FIG. 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5)

1.2 PREDRILLING

After placing of the correct location of Bored Pile, Pre-boring using auger or drilling bucket is required up to 4 meter to free – stand
the temporary casing. Setting up of Pile Drilling Rig (Auger or Drilling Bucket) into pre bored hole as shown in Fig. 2.0 and 2.1.
1.2.1 The diameter of a pile shall be not less than the specified diameter. The Main Contractor Surveyor shall check the casing
position for each pile during and immediately after placing the casing, and agree it with the Engineer.

1.3 DRIVING OF TEMPORARY CASING

Insert hydraulic Vibro hammer and clamped into the free-stand temporary casing using a service crane to hold the casing. (See Fig.
3.0 and 3.2). Close monitoring on the vertically of the casing during driving by using 2 plumb bob place in perpendicular position.
(See Fig. 3.3) Use Plumb bob to monitor the vertically of casing while driving.

1.4 DRILLING OF BORED HOLE

For Mixing of Bentonite – Bentonite powder and any other material shall be mixed thoroughly with clean water to make a suspension
which shall maintain the stability of the pile excavation for the period necessary to place concrete and complete construction. (See
mixing diagram in figure 4.0)

Viscosity of the bentonite suspension shall stay determined using viscosity funnel (Se Figure 4.1).
To measure mud viscosity, hold the Marsh Funnel in uptight position with your finger over outlet. Using quart cup, pour drilling fluid
through the screen in top of the funnel until it reaches the fill line marked on the inside of the funnel. Holding the funnel over quart cup,
remove your finger from the funnel outlet and measure the number of seconds that it takes to fill the quart cup to the mark. The
resulting seconds per quart represents the viscosity of the drilling mud.

Marsh Funnel and Cup)

Note: Mixture will be based on the soil condition at site. In case of collapsing while drilling, increase the viscosity of drilling fluid or
extend the temporary casing up to the level of collapse area. When concrete delayed, the level of bentonite fluid must be on top of the
casing to prevent from collapsing. At least 24 hours long bentonite can hold or stand before it collapse.
