B. Presentation:
Today class, I will show you how to draft a front pattern of skirt. But before we
go further you must know the tools and materials needed in drafting in drafting
front skirt. So we have pencil, drafting paper, tape measure, L- square, ruler
and hip curve.
Now, the measurement needed are the waistline, hip measurement and length
of the skirt
Remember class that accurateness and neatness are needed to consider in
drafting your skirt pattern because it help you a lot in constructing the
foundation of good fitting garment
(The teacher will demonstrate on how to draft Front Skirt’s Pattern step by
step)
A- Starting Point
AB - ½ inch for the waistline curve
AC - 7 inches
AD – Skirt length measurement
Square out point A, B, C and D
AE- ¼ hip measurement Plus 1 1/4
CF- ¼ of hip measurement plus 3/8 inches
DG- the same as CF
GH- ¾ of an inch
Connect points E and F with hip curve
Connect points F, G and H with a straight line
Connect points B and E using French curve
BI- 3 1/4 inches
IJ- 5/8 inch
IK- 5/8 inch
IL- 4 inches length of the dart
Connect point I, J, K and L with a straight line
C. Application
1. Call two students to re-demonstrate the steps taking body
measurement needed in drafting front skirt pattern.
2. The students will draft pattern of front skirt using the body
measurement they gathered from one another following the procedure
with the supervision of the teacher.

V. Evaluation
Drafted pattern will be evaluated based on the following criteria (25 points)
Performance Criteria
Prepare or select drafting tools completely 3 pts
Used tools properly 3 pts
Draft pattern neatly and correctly 10 pts
Follow procedures correctly 5 pts
Observe safety work practices 4 pts
TOTAL: 25 pts
VI. Assignment:
Make a pattern of front skirt using your own measurements.
