Course Description

This is an introductory course in the field of accounting and finance. It is structured to help develop a base for

understanding accounting and financial reporting methodologies and concepts. It is a pre-requisite for a course

“Accounting for Decision Making” and aims at development of skills of students to enable them to read and

understand financial statements and draw inferences from its annual report and other accounting data. It is expected

that students would have a reasonable grasp of how financial data is collected and used for communication within a

corporation and with the outside world.

This is NOT a course on technical aspects of accounting and financial matters, but provides exposure to practical
aspects of financial data and information for general usage in businesses.
