Rachel
SEO Executive
Rachel completed the Digital Marketing course around the time
she was nishing school. She started to read up on industry news
on professional websites, following podcasts, and she updated her
LinkedIn pro le to include her interests, skills and goals in the
industry. She wanted to start earning money straight away, so she
applied for an apprenticeship as a Digital Marketing
Assistant that would allow her to gain real-life work experience
while also earning a degree.
She soon excelled in the role, not least because she asked one of
her more experienced colleagues, Susan, to mentor her. Susan met
with her once a week to talk through her achievements and goals,
and she also showed her some great online resources to help her
with her day to day job.
At the end of her apprenticeship, Rachel was offered a permanent
job. After two years of experience in the job, she decided to
specialise in Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and to become
a SEO Executive.

Tom
Digital Marketing Manager
Tom had been working as a freelance photographer for a while, and
he was looking at ways of expanding his skill set. He as introduced
to the idea of going into Digital Marketing by a friend, and after
taking the Digital Marketing course, he subscribed to Digital
Marketing podcasts, took online training and even started his own
photo blog!
He used his new-won marketing knowledge to win followers,
before reaching out to professionals in the eld to ask them for
more advice. He found a Digital Marketing Manager willing to
mentor him. His mentor supported him with applying for work
experience at a marketing agency who were impressed with
Tom's knowledge, previous experience, and his willingness to
learn more. They extended his work experience, before making
him a permanent offer.
Tom has had the opportunity to specialise within the eld, but has
chosen to become a Digital Marketing Manager "generalist" due to
his love of all things marketing.

Alex
Content Marketing Executive
After being brought close to tears by an advert at Christmas,
Alex read a really interesting article online about the advert's role
in Digital Marketing. She took the Digital Marketing course to
learn more about the profession.
Having listened to a number of podcasts and following industry
news for a while, Alex decided to study Marketing and
Communications at university. On her summer break, she
completed an internship with a Social Media agency who offered
her a job when she graduated.
After a year of working as a Social Media marketer, Alex realised
that what she loved most about the job was Content Marketing,
and she was able to shift her role to specialise as a Content
