“Breakfast is often described as the most important meal of the day as it provides
the needed nutrition and energy for the activities we have every day.” Vashisht (2018). It
is also a must for us to eat our breakfast since our mind works well when our tummy’s full.
It also helps us to have an energetic body; keeping us active and productive. A morning
meal also helps us improve our concentration especially for the students who need to be
According to Taha and Rashed (2017) “Breakfast can affect the learning and
breakfast would bring negative effects to us. According to Wright and Larsen (2011),
studies shows that people who take their breakfast tend to perform well at task and they
have more energy throughout the day. Breakfast also improves children’s “cognitive
function, attention, and memory”and when you skip your morning meal, children are “less
able to differentiate among visual images, show increased errors, and have slower memory
recall” (FRAC).
Moreover, the study in Abu Dhabi uses two private schools with the same studying
hours - 7:30 in the morning to 2:30 in the afternoon – and also with both the same
curriculum that have been assigned by the UAE Ministry of Education just to assure that
the results would be accurate. And according to the analysis of Taha and Rashed (2017)

between skipping breakfast and their quiz scores in the 1st three subjects. It will also provide
the necessary framework for parents and teachers to encourage students to eat their

scores of Grade 12 students in E. Rodriguez Jr. High School and to examine how
skipping breakfast affects their academic performances during class. This study will be
