UNIT 3: TRANSISTOR
P.N.P. and N.P.N. transistors, bias stability, Biasing. Configurations of
Transistor. Equivalent circuit of Transistor Derivation of voltage Gain,
Power gain, input and output impedance of common Emitter Transistor
and its characteristics. Comparison of these properties in C.B., C.E. and
C.C. configuration.
UNIT 4: AMPLIFIERS
Quiescent Operation: D.C. and A.C. Load line and Quiescent operating
point. Self bias operation with A.C. Signal in the linear Region of
characteristics. Classification of amplifiers class A,B,C, etc. R.C. coupled
amplifiers based upon (i) Operating point (ii) Coupling and (iii)
Frequency. Gain at mid frequency, lower and upper cut off frequency,
High frequency and low frequency compensation.

UNIT 4
Transmission Lines and their implications, shapes of different types of
transmission lines. Distributed constant of a transmission line, equivalent
circuit of an infinite line, T and Pi type representation of a section of line.
UNIT 5
Transmission line equation; expression of voltage current and impedance at
a point on the line for lines with and without losses. Input impedance of an
open and short circuited line and its graphical representation.
